What is GENIUSlink? The GENIUSlink App is a mobile application that allows users to control their Miracle-Ear GENIUS hearing aids with their iOS devices. The app is compatible with any iOS device running iOS 2.3 or higher and is intended to be controlled by a patient within parameters set by the hearing care professional. The app provides various functions such as volume control, listening situations, external audio sources, treble control, tinnitus volume, speech navigator settings, connection status information, and battery status information.

Software Features and Description

1. The GENIUSlink App is compatible with Miracle-Ear GENIUS Hearing Aids; ME-1, ME-2 and ME-3 (ME5400/5300, ME4400/4300 and ME3400/3300 RIC, XT RIC, SX/SA & PX BTE, and customs) with wireless, directional microphones and a bilateral fitting.

2. The Miracle-Ear GENIUSlink App allows you to control your GENIUSlink & hearing aids with all of your favorite audio sources directly from your mobile phone.

3. The GENIUSlink is a discreet and simple-to-use streamer that wirelessly connects your GENIUS hearing aids with your environment.

4. While using the App do not hold the loudspeaker of this device to your ears or the ears of others; or use the device with headphones, headsets or other audio playback devices.

5. Intended Use: the GENIUSlink App is intended to be controlled by a patient within parameters set by the hearing care professional.

6. Discretion: The app acts as a remote control within your iOS device and looks as though you are sending a text message from your phone.

7. Display: the screen of your IOS device becomes the visual display of the GENIUSlink.

8. Device compatibility: the GENIUSlink App is compatible with any iOS device running iOS 2.3 or higher.

9. Whether you are watching TV, listening to your favorite song or talking on your Bluetooth phone – control is in the palm of your hands.

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using GENIUSlink on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "GENIUSlink"
The search will reveal the GENIUSlink app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once GENIUSlink is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including GENIUSlink.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use GENIUSlink,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "GENIUSlink" » then Click "Install".
- GENIUSlink will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

- The app works great when it is functioning properly.

- It is useful for taking conference calls and hearing in important meetings.

☹ Cons:

- The Bluetooth connection is not very strong and can be lost easily.

- The app stops functioning without warning and sometimes changes settings by itself.

- Troubleshooting the connection problems between all the elements is time-consuming and frustrating.

- The app crashes frequently and does not connect properly.

- The app is not worth the high cost of $7000 for the hearing aids.

I have been using app since it came out, one of the first to buy. App Works great when it works. I believe the problem is not the app but the Bluetooth. The connection is not very strong and I believe they are using old Bluetooth technology. If you turn your body connection can be lost and when the Bluetooth reconnects your settings will change. If you are watching TV and using the Bluetooth connection, turning your body will loose the connection and you will have to reconnect. Modern Bluetooth connection would not be lost by walking away or turning your body. This is why I rated this app a 3, because it is a great app as long as the Bluetooth connection is working.

When the app works it's great however it stops functioning without warning and sometimes changes settings by itself. Then becomes a hassle to resync. Shut everything off and start over.

I've been working with my hearing aid specialist to get this app to work so I can take conference calls and hear in important meetings. The app does nothing but crash, does not connect properly, I would say this has been the worst app I've ever experienced. After spending $7000 on aids you would thing you would get a working product. This is truly let down and I will not recommend it. I'm considering leaving miracle ear for alternatives if this is not fixed.

I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot the connection problems between all of these elements. Ridiculously time consuming and nothing ever works the same. Very frustrated that I have to waste time to get everything to link together. When you spend so much money on technology, at least you hope it will work. This does not.
