Install CortexScan app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using CortexScan on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "CortexScan"
The search will reveal the CortexScan app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once CortexScan is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including CortexScan.
Now enjoy CortexScan on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use CortexScan,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "CortexScan" » then Click "Install".
- CortexScan will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

✔ Pros:

- The app has a fast scan feature that works better than handheld barcode scanners.

- The app does a great job of scanning barcodes.

☹ Cons:

- The app no longer has the ability to copy scanned text, which was a useful feature.

- The app has a limitation in decoding 2D barcodes, only revealing the first three characters followed by "******", making it useless for certain purposes.

This app originally was fantastic. It still does a great job of scanning barcodes, but for some inexplicable reason, they removed the ability to copy the scanned text.
Works really well!

2D barcode prefix only

This is worthless!!! It will scan a 2D barcode but only decodes the first three (3) characters followed by "******". It does tell you the character length but when it only reveals the first 3 characters, what purpose does THAT serve?!
