What is SwingTalk?

SwingTalk is a device that attaches to the grip of a golf club and provides comprehensive data on the user's swing. It connects wirelessly to a smartphone using Bluetooth and displays swing analysis on the phone, which is also read by a synchronized voice. The device measures the trajectory of the club and shaft, analyzes the swing motion, and breaks it down into swing tempo and speed, club trajectory and speed, and other information. The swing is analyzed by breaking into phases, and users can save and load their swings with the Swingtalk Cloud feature.

Software Features and Description

  • Frequently locks up with iOS 11

    By geglne (Pcmac user)

This was a pretty nice tool with older iOS versions. I used this for the past year but not he last 5 months. After upgrading the iOS a month back, the app frequently locks up which I have to quit the app and reconnect. Especially after analyzing a swing. It feels like every 5-8 swings this app locks up and becomes unusable. This app is now buggy... --g2
  • Great Device with awesome app!!

    By Jack Morello (Pcmac user)

With this app, I got so much improved. I am able to get audio updates about my tempo and club speed right after my swings. (Of course, I can check more analysis on my phone.) So, don’t need to go to check. I can keep my swing rhythm, practicing swings instead of halting and checking every swing. I can also analyze my golf swings by aspect; address, backswing, top, downswing, impact movement. And what I like most on this is showing putting analysis as well.. Easy to set up and simple to get to know.
  • Good !!

this app is a good product. It is easy to use, has slick design and nice S/W. I use it everyday and it’s worth the money.
  • Needs some smarts

By Rocky & Eileen (Pcmac user)

Trying to learn a golf swing? This app and the Bluetooth-connected device you must buy and plug into the butt end of a golf club handle won't accomplish that goal on their own. What you get instead is data: angles and movement results for each captured swing and an animation of said swing. You also get a brief written summary defining each of the data points. What do you do with this data to improve your golf swing? That will depend on either your self-teaching skills or the services of a person who can translate your data into actual swing changes. Because the app does little to integrate the various measurements of club face, club path and other angles of a golf swing, you will be hard-pressed to use the data to rebuild your swing without expert help, unless you have enough theoretical knowledge to turn such esoteric data as "Angle to Path" into targeted practice drills for your particular swing. The "talk" feature here is simply an audio announcement of swing speed and tempo; nice but not especially useful if what you actually want to know is your swing path. For that, you must dig into data details that are tough to read on an iPhone on an outdoor driving range. What an app such as this needs in order to help the everyday golfer is a complete rewrite to analyze the captured data and deliver instructions on how to fix evidenced swing faults. Until then, you'll have to be your own golf guru, which reminds me of the expression: "He who represents himself has a fool for a client."
