Install PDF-OCR-Free app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "PDF-OCR-Free"
The search will reveal the PDF-OCR-Free app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once PDF-OCR-Free is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including PDF-OCR-Free.

Not Bad for a Trial Version.

I don’t know what all the complaints are about. I only used it to OCR a single 1-page PDF, but the app didn’t make any changes to my original file, and it didn’t make any OCR mistakes either. Does what it says on the tin.

Update: Now it won’t even open on my Mac! Worked well before. I would have given it five stars. I was so pleased with the free version that I paid for the full version. Then there was some update and now it just destroys my PDFs, rather than making them searchable. Major disappointment and waste of money.

Tried the trial version — worked great. Bought the upgrade to full version, it converted a 15 page PDF fast and flawless!

I purchased the software to scan some relatively short documents (<20 pages). I scanned 3 or 4 documents, no problem. Then, I noticed the preview page (before scanning for OCR) began combining several pages into one. No matter what I did, OCR conversions were no longer accurate.
