  • It works, but it's not "Mobile"

    By Peterphilia (Pcmac user)

"Credit System" = limited to 5 scans / day! the app seems very good (but not perfect, more below). It removes all lines breaks, so you get on long paragraph. Contrary to its name, it's not "mobile"! If you're not connected to the internet you get the message, "Failed / Connection error." Is it one of those apps that sends images to back-end processing on the internet? Thanks, but no thanks! Maybe that's why it's so sluggish. I live in a part of the U.S. where there's not a lot of WI-FI. I want an the app app to give me text of articles I read from newspapers which do not let me "Select" and "Copy". While this app allows me to scan a "Screen Shot" (which ends up in the Camera Roll), I'm a little surprised by how imperfectly it does the app. The text is black on a perfectly white background, no distortion. Again, the the app is very good, but surprisingly not perfect under these ideal condition. Ultimately, because I can't use it when I need to (when I'm away from WI-FI), this app is not for me. If it did it's job without being tied to the internet, I would give it 2 stars (originally I had "4 stars, but the recently added "Credit System" has crippled this "free app").

Simple! Works just fine I think. I had a couple of faxed pages of medical prescriptions for my father that I needed transcribed to a db on an iPad. I first tried a couple of other the app applications, one on the iPhone even. No luck! Erred out. But this worked flawlessly. Only one error in conversion; a '{' instead of a '('. I am quite pleased and will use again. Greg
  • Stupid

When they added their lovely new credits system to limit the number of things you could scan each day, this app became junk. It claims you get 5 "daily credits", except they're not daily- that's all you get. Five. Five times to use a crappy scanner that works 50% of the time if you're lucky. And then you have to pay money to ever use it again. Delete this app and save yourself the space it takes up on the home screen.
  • Great!

Works well for me. Just make sure you have a good camera in good lighting. It's also good to take the picture on one of those free scanning apps first because they can take out the shadows and sharpen the image. I'm using the ipad 3 camera and it works good!
