Software Features and Description

1. If location or altitude is not available that information will not be displayed however you can still search for an airport by identifier.

2. Don't miss your airport! Designed for pilots of any size aircraft, this app provides you with bearing and vertical speed required to nearby airports.

3. A positive, green glide delta indicates the glide distance has been estimated to exceed the distance to the airport with a 25% safety margin.

4. Just like the iPhone and iPad app, the Watch app requires GPS information to locate nearby airports and relative bearing.

5. The glide distance long or short of the selected airport is then displayed and is conveniently color coded.

6. You must be moving for course information and the magenta relative bearing arrow to be displayed.

7. Tapping on the information button, Time to TOD or Target Altitude allows you to customize the desired descent rate.

8. Filter by runway length and surface type and choose any of the following: airports, seaplane bases, heliports, balloon ports and closed airports.

9. See distances to nearby airports or bearing to a selected airport.

10. Additionally your current speed, course, altitude and vertical speed are displayed.

11. Worldwide airport information is provided by multiple sources.

Install NRST app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using NRST on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "NRST"
The search will reveal the NRST app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once NRST is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including NRST.
Now enjoy NRST on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native NRST Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use NRST,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "NRST" » then Click "Install".
- NRST will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Does not work with watch gen 4

Pro: $12/y Phone app works well. Cons: $18/y subscription to watch is a waste of money if you want to use it on watch gen 4. Watch app doesn’t want to download/install initial database, keeps saying that subscription expired. Apps Resets/re-downloads/re-installations do not change this. There is no way to force watch app to sync with database. Tried on 2 watches. Identical experience.
Problems solved

Toonsy was very responsive. The biggest issue was that the watch software needed to be updated to 2.0 (this app simply doesn't work on older versions). The iPad "freeze" was finally fixed with a hard reboot.

Occasional hiccup with Watch app that I attribute more to the watch. Probably had to do with syncing to new phone.
