What is HEVC?
HEVC is an application that allows users to analyse raw HEVC/H.265 encoded video bitstreams. It provides a detailed view of the structure of the encoded video, including motion vectors, quantisation scales, coding modes, and quad tree structures. The app incorporates the libde265 HEVC/H.265 video codec and can stream sample HEVC/H.265 bitstreams from the libde265 HEVC site or view user's own HEVC bitstream files. The HEVC video player expects a URL to stream HEVC video from a web server.
1. The libde265 HEVC codec enables streaming services to simultaneously deliver HD video content to at least twice as many users in comparison to preceding H.264 video content, or to cut the costs for streaming and network bandwidth by a minimum of 50%.
