Software Features and Description

1. Bike NYC is the easiest way to get where you're going using the NYC Citi Bike bike sharing program.

2. It's one thing, and one thing only: a map that lists every Citi Bike station.

3. We even have data that's fresher and more accurate than the official Citi Bike app.

4. You just want to find a bike so you can get where you're going.

5. Don't worry, Bike NYC's got your back.

6. Things are hectic enough in this city without having to navigate your way through another clunky, hard-to-use app.

7. We include up-to-the-minute information about how many bikes and docks each station has right there on the map itself.

8. You're busy.

9. And of course everything's blazing fast and responsive, since ultimately we just want to get you out of our app and onto your bike as quickly as possible.

  • Old and inaccurate bikelane info

    By rbs (Pcmac user)

I paid the extra $1.99 to get the the app lanes overlay on the map and found that information that is old or just plain wrong. Maybe this is based on NYC DOT’s plans, but errors I found don’t acth reality or the current (2015) city the app map. For example, this app marks about 20 blocks of Fourth Ave in Brooklyn as having a shared lane. The official city the app map marks that stretch as a signed route rather than having shared lane (i.e., sharrows), and I can attest from having recently traveled both ways along that stretch that there are absolutely no markings on the street for bikes. Meanwhile, the city map indicates that a Fifth Ave in Brooklyn now has sharrows from 23rd St down to 65th St., but this app shows nothing at all along that stretch.
  • Great NYC Bike Map

    By tekis (Pcmac user)

There are two major the app apps for NYC. I much prefer this app to the "official" one. The actual the app map which shows the the app lanes is much easier to read. And yes, I paid for the upgrade. Thanks!
  • Not useful

    By molsmachine (Pcmac user)

When you open the app, It doesn’t show true the app lanes. When you select the icon to show them a little window pops up that says unlock the app lanes and then stays there frozen and you cannot use the app at all. Clearly you are supposed to do something but It is completely confusing and not intuitive at all.
  • Doesn’t work on my Apple Watch 4. No support

    By Bikepolo (Pcmac user)

on the watch it says to open the app on my phone to purchase watch app. I’ve done that. App message stays the same. I’ve reached out to developer a couple times and have never heard back.
