Software Features and Description

1. With this app and the Smart Car Robotics science kit, you can build and drive eight model vehicles through virtual reality cityscapes.

2. You can even program your models easily with the app: The four electric motors in the models are individually controlled by the program, so you can script, save, and run programmed movements.

3. - Virtual Cities: Spread the AR (Augmented Reality) code cards out on the floor, point your device’s camera at them, and discover how virtual buildings spring up on the screen.

4. - Remote Control Steering: Drive your models with your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.

5. - Programming: Command the four motors individually to move forward or backward, or to stop, in one-second increments.

6. This app is designed for use with the Smart Car Robotics science kit by Thames & Kosmos.

7. You can retrieve the stored scripts and then run them to automatically control your models.

8. - Experiment with the precision of the guidance system and the power level of the motors.

9. Save the sequence of steps in programs up to three minutes long.

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Smart Car Robotics on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Smart Car Robotics"
The search will reveal the Smart Car Robotics - Add-on for the science kit by Thames & Kosmos app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Smart Car Robotics is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Smart Car Robotics.
Now enjoy Smart Car Robotics on PC.

- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

App is completely nonfunctional

As previous reviewers have noted, this app is worthless and makes for a very disappointing and misleading product. My 8 year old son received the same car for his birthday. He put the car together almost completely by himself - he was highly motivated by the virtual experience. You can imagine his extreme disappointment when we attempted to use the app on every device we have (several iPads and two iPhones) and it crashed every time. PLEASE fix this bug!
A piece of crap and a waste of your money

I got it for Christmas work two hours on it then tried to connect to my iPad, it just exited me out. Then a week later, my Ipad got a virus. If you are thinking about buying this DONT it is just a waste. Instead of the name being "this app" it should be called "this is a piece of crap robotics". So if you are thinking about buying for someone, just don't because it just will disappoint the child.

I got it for Christmas and it took a long time to build. Then all that really works a little bit is the car none of the other stuff in the instructions really actually works. The app is horrible. I guess they never thought that their would be an iOS 9 or later because since I have installed iOS 9 it hasn't worked. THEY NEED TO FIX IT NOW.

Santa brought this cool set this year and we spent a long time putting it together. Downloaded the app. Uh oh, it crashes when our iOS 9 iPad attempts to pair. Fabulous! Looks like it's not been updated for several months. Could the company predict this app might be downloaded in late December? Uh, yes. Looks like this gift was a dud due to technical support. Merry Christmas son.
