Frustrating, not nearly as useful as basic google maps

I am not a stupid person, but am unable to get this app to locate basic things like hotels....that are not near me, but near some other location. I can easily locate things, mark them, etc. in google the app, but was anticipating that this app might help in trip planning, tagging hotels, type of activity, dining, etc. yep, search, hotels, nothing comes up. Pressing long on locations on the map gives addresses, thats about it. I guess once everything is bookmarked you can search within bookmarks and tags, but that wont be done if I have to find everything on google the app and then locate manually in this app. So nit worth my $1.99. deleting
First impressions are not good for this new app

For me, the downloading and installation process worked flawless. The app does resemble GoogleMaps on the iPhone. It is rather intuitive to use. Still, at least some rudimentary instructions would be helpful. Now the key test: I asked for directions from my home to an address about a mile away. Two different routes were suggested, both perfectly accurate. Next, I asked for directions from my home town to Rochester, NY. That's about a 5 hour drive involving several different roads. The written driving instructions were correct, BUT THE ROUTE SHOWN ON THE MAP WAS AN ILLOGICAL ZIG-ZAG THROUGH NEW JERSEY THAT ENDED IN A STRAIGHT LINE OVER NON-EXISTING ROADS LEADING INTO THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF ROCHESTER. Basically, the map display was useless and extremely misleading. For me, this is a fatal flaw!!! Nothing is worse than a map full of errors. I strongly recommend not to invest in this new app till the developers deliver a product that is actually reliable.
