Great System - Dislike Blue Color
By 22Rick (Pcmac user)
We’ve had DL monitoring our home for over 4-1/2 years. Couldn’t be more satisfied with the service. We had a minor issue with the contact sensors on a few windows being knocked off when the when the windows were opened. This happened after the first winter. the app sent out a tech who removed the bulky plastic cover on the problematic window sensors. Problem solved. This is most likely due to living in a cold climate during the winters.
The app did have some issues in the early days but has been rock solid for quite some time. Mind you, we do not have an Apple Watch or cameras with our system so I can’t speak to that.
My one issue though is when the app changed the color and logo of this app from the orange DL logo to the blue the app/DirecTV logo. I won’t update the app because of the this. This may seem minor and nit picky and I understand the app wanting to have a universal logo for all their apps. However, I have the U-Verse and the the app app which all look the same. When I receive a notification from my DL system, I prefer the orange DL notifications so I don’t quickly dismiss it thinking it’s one of the other the app apps. I’m just person but I hope the app reconsiders changing back to the orange DL color and logo.

App stopped allowing me in after you did an update 10 minutes ago
By Rogerd8235 (Pcmac user)
Not that anyone ever reads this but you should. On November 12, 2017 you tech guys decided to upgrade your app and now it’s useless. You can’t log in. It says a new version of the app is available please go to the App Store to download the new version. Well there is nothing in the App Store except the old version that locks me out. This happens way to often. I’m on hold now for 28 minutes to your ridiculous customer service. 32 minutes later a person answered and said the app is updating the app and it may or may not wort by tomorrow morning or in several hours later. Poor poor poor technology. You leave your customers without service.
I love the hardware. I love the install. I love the entire concept I hate the app. I've had the system for 5 days and the app has been down or glitchy everyday. You can not rely on the app at all. Yesterday I got in my car in the rain then attempted to arm the system and lock the door via the app no way. I had to get back out in the rain and manually arm and key pad the door lock. The app is out again this morning. The customer service personel on the phone are very nice and sympathetic but offer only empty promises and excuses. At&t this is a joke. Fix the app permanently

This is ridiculous.

I never write reviews but I’ve had enough with digital life. The app constantly logs you out and you can’t log back in unless you call customer service. When the app does let you in there is often a delay between taking an action on the app and the devices activating. I try to unlock my door and disarm the system as I pull up to the house and the door doesn’t unlock or system disarm. I end up manually unlocking the door and system and then once I’m already in the house 5-10 minutes later my door unlocks! That is the opposite of security! Same thing with the lights. I try to turn them off when I’m back in bed and it doesn’t work so I have to go turn them off manually. Why am I paying extra for home automation when I have to do everything manually? When I call in to customer service to try to resolve the issues they essentially say that’s to bad and they can’t do anything about it. They also still don’t support Siri or Google home. You would think AT&T would have a technology based security system in the bag but they don’t.
Bottom line if you are looking for working home automation built into your security system look somewhere else.

Terrible terrible terrible app
By qqq444 from PA (Pcmac user)
The app has brief flashes of acceptable performance and when you think it is fixed, the same old problems reappear. Recurring issues are: Cameras not updating, time lag in notifications, live feed not working, pausing programs does not work and sign on failures. Bottom line advice: run away from this company. They have no business offering security services. They either do not know what they are doing or just do not care. Given the number of poor reviews of this app over time, I am inclined to believe they just do not care.
May 2018 - App was working sort of ok until they upgraded it. Same old problems re-emerge. This company is plain incompetent. The phone app is next to useless now.
July 2018 - The iPhone app is useless. I paused programs and could not un-pause them. They just time out. The images never refresh. I pull down to refresh them and they are for a few seconds but then revert back to images days or weeks old. Customer support says to “use a computer” which in my opinion defeats the purpose of having an app.
