  • Would be good... if it worked.

    By BabyCharmander (Pcmac user)

I did the intro run and everything ran smoothly. I’m not really into zombie stories but I was enjoying the characters, voice acting, etc. Then I started the Week 1 Day 1 run, and it worked great... up until the very end. Just as I was finishing the run, my entire phone restarted. No data was saved. I was frustrated, but I’d finished the run, so I went on to the next day’s run a few days later. Started the initial walk, and then wondered why the scientist was silent when it had certainly been 10 minutes. Checked my phone to find the app had crashed. I restarted the app and started the run again, but there was no way to skip forward past the parts I’d already completed (a feature in the last C25K app I was using). On top of that, it wouldn’t even finish the intro before the app crashed again. On top of the crashes, the app is an enormous drain on my battery. The previous C25K app I used did not have that problem. It’s a good app in theory... but I can’t use an app that crashes like this. If the devs fixed the crash problems, they’d have a great app, and I’d have fun. But until this is fixed, I’m going to have to go back to my other C25K app.
  • A little buggy but I can get over it

    By L. Guzman (Pcmac user)

I really enjoy the original the app, Run app and decided to buy the 5k app to improve my running as it’s pretty poor. I ended up buying the full version so I could do all of the missions, which I probably wouldn’t have done if I knew it was going to become so buggy after the fourth week. The timer doesn’t always work right, so I’m stuck unlocking my phone to force it to the next segment if I wonder how long it’s been. It’s almost like the game times out and doesn’t give you the prompts to run or walk. Once I turn on my phone though, it will “catch up” and give me ALL the prompts at once. It isn’t normally more than an inconvenience since it removes one cycle from my workout, but my runs routinely go 15-20 minutes over the time they should now, which I have to account for so I’m not late for work in the morning.
  • A great app!!!

    By Cupcake_Power13 (Pcmac user)

I've never consistently exercised at all, maybe when I was a little kid, but definitely not in my teenage years. However, yesterday I completed all 8 weeks of this app and it was so much fun! I never knew running could be as enjoyable as it was while doing this training. I didn't think I would be able to finish 8 weeks of any kind of exercising, so being able to do it all was an amazing feeling. I downloaded the app, Run! a few years ago and never really used it because I couldn't run much, but now I feel like I am in good enough shape to get more into it. I love exercising now, which I never thought I'd ever say that in my entire life.
  • Great training overall

    By Moonwynde (Pcmac user)

Nearly finished the 8 weeks and I have to give credit where it’s due. Very well designed program, you’ll certainly improve over the training period if you follow the apps lead and push yourself to improve. Unfortunately, it does have an occasional tendency to crash during training. Initially I thought it could be because I was tracking with my Fitbit as well as the app (sharing gps), but having switched to a Garmin tracker with built in gps, I’ve still had the app crash. Not a lot, but enough to be frustrated by it. The lack of a auto save so that you can restart where you left off in case of a crash is disappointing. Overall, if you want to get in shape, this is a great utility.
