Beginning with the orbiter Columbia and continuing with Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavour, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Space Shuttle has carried people into orbit; launched, recovered, and repaired satellites; conducted cutting-edge research; and helped build the largest artificial structure in space, the International Space Station.

2. The Space Shuttle fleet set high marks of achievement and endurance through 30 years of missions, from its first, when STS-1 launched on April 12, 1981, to its last, when STS-135 landed on July 21, 2011.

3. As humanity’s first reusable spacecraft, the Space Shuttle pushed the bounds of inquiry, requiring not only advanced technologies, but the tremendous effort of a vast workforce.

Top Pcmac Reviews

  • No longer works...Needs updating to IOS 11

    By Cthame1 (Pcmac user)

Photo book of all the shuttle missions. Mission patches served as icons to navigate through the shuttle flights through the years. Also, video narrated by William Shatner was a high point.
  • Poor graphics resolution

    By powernav (Pcmac user)

Nice app but the graphics quality is poor when viewing on an iPad with a retina display. Navigating past the intro video is not clear.
  • Great interactive publication

By From Cleveland Park (Pcmac user)

This is beautifully done! Very comprehensive and fun to navigate.
  • Broken app

    By Enemenem (Pcmac user)

Doesn't do anything apart from playing the intro trailer over and over again. App seems to be broken under iOS 6.0 and on new iPad (4th gen).
