Software Features and Description

1. Inkist takes the features artists need: Layers, blend modes, customizable brushes, tablet pressure support, and more, and packages it in an interface designed to launch quickly, get out of your way, and let you work.

2. I love my drawing tablet, but I've found that despite the fantastic power available in existing apps, they are cluttered and annoying to use.

3. At this time Inkist is purely a bitmap drawing/painting app (no vector tools).

4. I wrote Inkist for one simple reason.

5. Inkist is the result of my work to fix that.

  • Don’t buy

I basically wasted 10 buck. Really wish Apple had a way for us to hget our money back from apps that don’t work
  • In some ways better than Sketchbook Pro

    By btipling (Pcmac user)

I have used Sketchbook Pro quite a bit and I have to say this little drawing program can compete, which is great given the low price. What I really like about this app is how the tools never get in your way. I have a small 13inch Macbook Pro and the small screen does not leave a lot of room for tools so in Sketchbook Pro I'm always fighting with the tools when they cover up my drawing. this app solves that problem by making a tiny band on the side that doesn't hover over your drawing. It does take away a little bit from the drawing area, but I think I prefer it. this app also does quite a bit with that little space. The tools UI is very compact but also immediately useful and intuitive. I only ever spend a glance or two figuring out a new thing I want to do. How do I zoom? Oh the zoom bar. How do I pick a different cursor? Oh that's right there. Etc. For even more than just simple drawings I would say this is a great app. It works well with my Wacom Bamboo tablet. I did experience a small bug where the UI seemed to not respond when in fullscreen mode but I don't know if I just triggered some kind of editing mode or something. I quit the app without saving and started it again and it showed up with my drawing exactly where I last left it. Overall I give it a not bad!
  • Issues...

    By Castle Monster (Pcmac user)

I dig the idea of a light sketching program but this app is still has bugs. It's too unstable. I've lost up to an hour of work from unexpected crashes. The main problem I've noticed is when switching layers and undoing. Also, the appearance of strange horizontal lines that won't go away, right after resizing the window. The only way I've found of making them go away is to close and reopen the file, and then half the time it does it all over again.
  • Horrible

Are you kidding me? This program is buggy and unstable. It crashed twice in the first five minutes of use.
