From LOVE to horrible disappointment
By twesman (Pcmac user)
I have used this app for years. I have sampled and logged dozens of scotch, whiskeys and bourbons. I’ve referred back to it when I forgot a name of something I’ve had or if I’m looking to buy a bottle of something I’ve enjoyed previously... Until recently when I had to replace My iPhone and for whatever reason, My iCloud backup didn’t work. I had to redownload the app and log in. But it has been years since I set up My profile... I don’t even believe it asked for an email when I set it up originally. But unlike most apps that usernames and passwords get automatically saved to Your iCloud Keychain, Whiskey Log didn’t. It’s literally the only app I lost anything in during this process yet it was the most important aside from My photos and contacts. I emailed the developer and He searched for different emails I would have used during the setup. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t ever prompted and He confirmed as such after not finding Me under any of the 3 email address’ I have ever used... One of My biggest passions and Years of logging all lost... I went from loving this app to being horribly disappointed with it.

The BEST Whisky Log App
By Pookniner1 (Pcmac user)
This app just arrived for use for the IPad and I had it on my iphone for several
years. I’m not sure why the makers don’t put a search Engine or find ways to make any money off of it. That being said, I see it as the best log out there. Best looking, easy to use.
The makers have updated it through out the years. So don’t worry about your info being erased. Thanks a million guys. Please add to it. Partner up with auction sites or something. Why? Because I want the App to continue and grow.
Can’t say enough. It’s simplistic but none out there match it in ease of use and it looks great. If you have a collection or simply want to keep track of what you want to get and or have tasted, this is your app.

Really good start
By hoostoh (Pcmac user)
Been using it for a couple of weeks and liking it a lot. Easy to use, and everything you'd want out of a handy in your pocket this app. My only constructive criticism for the developers would be the following: not sure you need "sort" and "filter". Can probably be one menu. Also, the date the log was created should be a permanent part of the log entry page. It's useful and the user shouldn't have to worry about how to sort it to view the date. Finally, you shouldn't be afraid to expand the text boxes so we can read all of our text and not have to scroll within the box. Looking forward to the updates!

Confused
By bbBrian83 (Pcmac user)
I don't understand why this app exists. The design seems fine and the app seems functional... The makers of the app are missing any and every opportunity to monetize their product. Why is there no search engine with official pictures and information, instead of entirely user generated information. Isn't there money to be made by hosting actual information (instead of entirely user generated pages only the user can see) about whiskeys with links to places to purchase the whiskey? That is how Internet commerce works, isn't it? You have nothing to generate money for yourselves since the app is free, so what could possibly motivate you to keep the app up to date? This gives me no reason to take the time to input the information if I can't be confident the app won't just stop being supported. I don't get it.
