I love this app for commuting and find that it is up to date and has great functionality. The rider advisory feature is very useful. There are a few minor things I’d like to see improved over time. I do wish the app would suggest any train options that might get you to your destination quickly even if that means transferring (for example, if I take the train north 1 stop from ‘point A’ and then south to my final stop ‘point B,’ I get home sooner than if I wait 25 more mins for the next direct train from ‘point A’ south to ‘point B’). Also, when in the “schedule” view I cannot scroll to see trains later than the ~5 soonest upcoming trains and instead have to switch to “timetable” view. This is fairly annoying if the time I am interested in viewing is juuuust out of sight. Finally, in “timetable” view when switching between north and south, if I have the page scrolled to a specific time, it changes back to the first train of the AM rather than keeping my spot. Overall, these are all small things, but improving them would highly increase the user experience and functionality of the app.

I've been using this app for 3+ years. Simple, effective, no frills app. There have been a number of schedule changes lately and the developers have kept up nicely. At some point I must have purchased the commuter package, handy. The advisory alerts seem to be hit or miss, but that might be my alert settings. It seems like some sort of crowd sourcing of delays could be an interesting addition, although probably a ton more work that would complicate a simple and useful app.

This app is great for day to day usual train info. When there is a breakdown/accident/delay the advisories are insufficient and do not provide a reliable estimation of wait time. Also the schedule does not change according to these delays at the scheduled time of arrival it just keeps showing all the trains arriving on time. The conductors do not always explain what’s happening on delay days sometimes trains stop at more or all stops because of the delay and sometimes not. I could have gotten on the correct train and saved an hour or more time on multiple occasions if either the app or the conductor had given better information.

I have been using this app for four years and it has always been accurate. It's very simple and intuitive to use, and is definitely the fastest way to figure out which caltrain to take (tbh faster than google maps?). I wish the caltrain was as reliable as this app haha.
