  • Saved my life

    By gilchevigne (Pcmac user)

I learned video editing "by myself" on FCPX six years ago. I'm now working as a freelancer for a TV channel and I felt really stupid the first time they asked me for an AAF and I realized FCPX doesn't manage to export one. Hopefully I discovered this app, I was afraid of the price and some bad reviews but I had no choice : I bought it and I really don't regret it. But it's not perfect : I'm pretty sure it's not developer's fault and the issues come from the buggy XML FCPX exports. Issue #1 : The audio files in my AAF are sometimes completely different that what my audio is on my video, and not at the same place. I don't why (I rode that it might comes from the FCPX XML). I struggled with that issue for a few weeks and finally found a solution : I have to copy/paste the audio from my project (the audio ONLY, with no video) to a new project, and only THEN the AAF coming out the XML is correct. It looks like there's sometimes a problem related to video-audio (it doesn't happen everytime). Issue #2 : one guy I work with have problem when he imports my AAF in his pro tools : he can see that it's supposed to have an audio file somewhere, but the audio is missing. Don't know why. The solution I found is : -I export my XML from FCPX -I create my AAF with the app -I import my AAF in Logic Pro -I export a new AAF from Logic Pro If devs want to get in touch with me to try to solve those problems I'd be happy to help.
  • Essential App, great support

    By @therealGreedo (Pcmac user)

You can buy this app with confidence. I had a massively complex feature-length timeline to transfer to protools, and it came through perfectly. I had initially had some problems which turned out to not be related to the the app app, and the support staff was able to confirm using my material that the tracks were coming into Protools sucessfully. It turned out to be user error on my part, which the the app service department was very gracious about. There have been complaints about the lack of a service number or email, but use the forum. It’s not just a user knowledge base, the support staff follow the forum and will jump in to help you via email when you are stuck, like I was.
  • A Necessary App for FCPx

    By RJHendriks (Pcmac user)

For our workflow, we require all audio to be sent through ProTools for final audio mixes. I struggled with this for several years until someone mentioned this app. While it is not perfect, it does everything we need to make our audio engineer a lot less stressed by giving him full control over the audio files. It is pricey, but again its worth it considering the amount of time that we save. Theyve been good about updates and makeing sure that it continues to work well with the latest versions of FCPx.
  • Did not do what it was supposed to, item ineligible for refund

    By floraterra (Pcmac user)

I did a number of speed and retiming adjustments in Final Cut Pro X and they did not carry over. This messed up the timing on the whole sequence and meant that the footage did not sync to the dialogue and the music was out of time. I had read a few problematic reviews but saw the advice to request a refund, so I figured it was worth a try. But when I asked apple for a refund they said this item was ineligible. I think this is extremely deceptive. How to I get a refund for this program that did not do what it was supposed to? I was supposed to bill this to a client but can not do so because I was unable to provide the deliverable they needed. Please let me know how to get a full refund for this application.
