Better than the online platform

I’m giving it 3 stars because it is profoundly superior in every aspect to the online platform. I have literally almost quit my job because of how time consuming grading is on the online platform. Seriously. With that said, the main issues I have with the app are that you cannot see the assignment you are grading while the rubric is open, and you cannot grade discussion board assignments. To only find two caveats says a lot for LMS apps, so kudos there. But, I will say, it is absolutely maddening that no platform and app exists without some kind of serious flaw that cripples the instructor / student interaction. How hard can it be for a multi billion dollar industry to somehow produce a product that is actually seamless between online and app? What frustrates me as well is that you can’t use the grader app on your iPhone (I have an XS Max, which is practically an iPad mini) and you can’t use the pulse app on the iPad!

Markup could be better

I love the way this app syncs with D2L. However, there are issues with the mark up feature. After you have done certain things, and not completely figured it out yet, you cannot go back and erase comments. I know once you get out of a student’s document and go back you cannot edit prior comments. However, there are times you cannot edit even if you have not left the document. I think once you use the eraser and then go back to mark up you cannot make changes to prior comments. This is inconvenient and causes you to have to scribble things out.

Comments and gradesoften go missing

As others have written, this is a great idea that’s poorly produced and programmed. Like others, I’ve had multiple times where my comments have vanished and I’ve had to start from scratch again. The most troubling aspect, however, is how little energy and money the company seems to put into tech support. I’ve reported the issue multiple times and have only received the reply that they can’t replicate the problem and, therefore, can’t solve it. Considering the number of recent reviews that cite these issues, it is clearly not an isolated occurrence. The company needs to put more resources into fixing this.

Great concept horrible execution

We wanted to move away from paper assignments and make everything digital. The students didn’t have to wait to get their stuff back and there was less pressure on us as well. Unfortunately, the app is unpredictable, crashes frequently, and sometimes doesn’t save graded papers. The only other complaint is that this app is only available on google play and the App Store. I wanted to use my surface, but had to buy an iPad just to use this app.
