  • Amazingly dependable.

    By Drew Hurlstone (Pcmac user)

I hate this app with all the passion and dark energy of a thousand dying suns. Ever since I installed it earlier this week, it has not failed to the app me up to run errands at horrible times in the morning where civilized human beings should be dreaming about app updates or something. I want it dead. I use the Demon Rooster setting, and it does indeed crow until the marrow of my bones is quivering with rage before I climb across the room to end its infernal screeching... and go do awake, productive things. Thus said, this means that it does its job well. Kudos to its makers. That said, I still despise it... but if I LIKED it, it would fail at its one purpose, so take this review as a win.
  • Just got fired

Not sure if it’s a MacOS issue, or if it can be fixed in the app. But I lost my phone recently and resorted to finding an alarm to use on my macbook. I was really late to work two days in a row, because once the screen on my macbook turns off, this alarm ceases to function. However, whenever I woke up and turned the screen back on, there was the really loud ringing of the alarm. It would have woke me up for sure if it was able to function while the Mac is dimmed. But I’m not rating it one star because I don’t know if it’s an issue on the Mac end. Decent alarm otherwise!
  • Thank God for small miracles

It’s late, my phone has died (it’s my usual alarm) and I need an alarm. I downloaded this and am pleased with how simple the interface is. All the basic functions you could ask for are right there in an easy to understand, easy to use interface. It all folds away nicely on my desktop and looks good too. Some of the alarm sounds are a little bit sharp for early morning, but I’m a light sleeper, so I’m used to softer alarms. There was really only one problem I saw with the app. The blinking colon. I had flashbacks to VCRs and broken alarms with the eternally flashing colon. Family member after family member asking me to reset their gadgets every time the power flashed in and out. The annoyance of the insesantly flashing LCD when I’m trying to sleep… Ok it wasn’t that bad, but it still caught my attention, and I told myself that if I can turn that off I’ll come on here, write a review and give it five stars… So I did. Thanks for the product guys!
  • Prevents computer sleep

    By Elomere (Pcmac user)

I'd been having trouble getting my computer to sleep for the past few weeks. Fiddled with System Preferences every night, but still, no dice. When I finally went into Terminal to see what the issue was, it turned out to be a recent update to this app. This is a good thing. It lets the app do its job when functioning as an alarm clock, and it's easy to quit the app if you DO need your computer to fall asleep. But that's if you know about the feature. I wish this had been mentioned in the app description!
