  • This product needs to be redesigned

    By RnR Nerd (Pcmac user)

    1) It Turns out that this version is ALSO not a full version, it is the educational version or so I was told by tech service. With a couple of dozen parts in it it turned out I was already over the established limits. They responded with “it should allow for a project the size of the Apple I Replica project”, which means nothing to me. Then they requested to see my project in order to determine whether I was using the "available design memory efficiently”. I would certainly have no problems sharing my design but the question of how many nodes and devices can be inserted should be a simple number, something like 128 nodes and 16 active devices is better than the use of the Apple I Replica as a baseline. 2) $25, not something that breaks the bank but certainly falls in the ranks of “should be of acceptable level”. This is not acceptable. 3) You have to click around for everything, there are ZERO contextual controls and shortcuts are either non-existent or if they do exist they are very poorly documented. 4) Diagonal traces don’t preserve their width. 5) The parts library is horrendous, changing a part requires contextual menus AND then to scroll around a very poorly indexed (not at all?) set of impossible names. 6) The default button in dialog boxes is WHITE which along with the gray background makes reading the default option name impossible. 7) Part labels don’t rotate with the part. 8) You pay for a product that is barely better than the free version and support resembles that of 1984.
