What is Ref Tools? Ref Tools is a free app designed for HVACR technicians that provides essential tools, guidance, support, information, and resources needed on the job and in the field. The app includes eight popular and useful air conditioning and refrigeration tools, such as Refrigerant Slider, TXV Superheat Tuner, Low-GWP Tool, Troubleshooter, Spare Parts, Magnetic Tool, Product Finder, and Podcasts. The app also allows users to track their most visited service sites and save unique settings for each one.
1. Refrigerant Slider, now a part of Ref Tools, helps you quickly calculate the pressure-to-temperature ratio for more than 80 refrigerants, including natural refrigerants such as ammonia and transcritical CO2.
2. As a featured part of Ref Tools, you get all the features and functionality that made Refrigerant Slider a hit with millions of installers around the world.

- Lots of refrigerants available
- Quick to use and easy to read
- R-11 is not available in the app
- R-123 only goes down to 40 degrees
- Current update deleted all favorites, requiring the app to be deleted and re-downloaded
- Might need an update for current iOS as refrigerant cannot be changed from R134a
