  • Awesome Game! Plays Great!

    By Zglouie (Pcmac user)

Great game.. I have the tabletop version, but had trouble understanding the rules. I Waited a few months til the app went on sale for 99 cents. I bought the app to teach myself the rules. It took a few times going thru tutorial, playing the game and reading the rules in the App, but I was able to figure it out. Fun game, really love the mechanics... Point collecting, area control, 2different types of head to head combat, can really swing the game... Plus being able to instigate wars between your opponents is an interesting twist I haven't seen before. The game is pretty stable on both my ipad 2 and ipad 3. The interface works well enough.. There are 3 minor issues... First, the rematch function doesn't work, it just hangs there, so after you hit rematch, you still have to go back to the main menu and replay the same game to get it to restart. Second, there's like 3 pages of game save slots, I have no idea why you would ever need that many.. Third, the animation to display the final scoring is slow.. I guess it's supposed to be dramatic, but it's just slow... Still an Awesome game... my new favorites iPad board game implementation. Can't wait to try my tabletop version with my friends now...
  • Needs a couple of interface changes

    By ShawnZzzzzzzz (Pcmac user)

This is a great game, don't get me wrong. It works great on both iPad and iPhone/iPod touch. So good in fact that you'll be playing it over and over. Then you'll start to notice the interface issues. Then you'll get annoyed by them. Then you'll start to hate them. 1) takes 10 seconds at the end of the game just to see the scores. The rest of the game moves super fast, but not this part. Someone thought it would be fun to be suspenseful, but it's really a huge waste of time. If you play 60 games, and you will easily, you'll have lost 10 minutes of your life. 2) Someone thought it would be worthwhile to save every game you complete automatically. So unless you want to waste time scrolling through endless pages of finished games, you'll have to delete the game every time you finish it. Another waste of time. 3) the "rematch" button doesn't work. It starts a new game but never lets you play. 4) lastly, on iPhone/iPod touch, when it's not your turn you can't see your tiles or scores. Would be nice to have this option in a single player game so you can plan your turn while the computer plays. It's a 5-star game, but only a 3-star interface. A couple of bug fixes would literally make this perfect.
  • Tile game

    By Science Teacher (Pcmac user)

You place tiles on a board like scrabble. While the board is always the same you get different tiles each game to start and how they a played quickly makes each game different. Easy to learn' but hard to master much like a game of checkers. Tutorial was very helpful in learning how to play. Pros: Easy to pick up and play A game only takes about 10 minutes to play max Different game each time Lots of customization for how the game plays Cons: There are only a limited number of tiles (four types). I see the computer players all starting with the same initial set of moves. This makes the starting the games pretty boring. There is only one game board. You can purchase an additional board for more $. Making a board can not be that hard. We should get a few more board options because that might seriously change the game up. When you replay a game you lost the game crashes. You have to exit to the main menu and start over to play another game.
  • Hasn't been updated in a while

    By shavip (Pcmac user)

The app hasn't been updated recently, but apparently the developers are still responsive because they added a note to the app page explaining how to get around the current bug. Hopefully they will be releasing a fix soon, but I'm happy to be able to get back to my game. Note: you have to have screen lock off for the workaround to work.
