Sounds are great, lots of controls and variables to tweak and loads of fun to play with. I wish I could import my own sounds and stienberg is a pain in the neck to get any customer support. I have a hard time convincing myself I am doing anything other than play a game without the ability to add my own sounds. Still it is a fun game to play! Hey Cubase folks, the sliders need the a ability to move by tapping instead of just dragging. Dragging can take you to another screen when all you want to do is turn something up or down.
C'mon! The iPhone version is better in many ways!

I bought this, wearily I might add, and in many ways feel cheated! While the real estate the iPad provides give the app a few more choices and abilities than its "smaller" brother that one sees on the iPhone version; the loops and samples are SO uninspired and formulaic, it actually makes me remember why I have a problem with Steinberg and most of their products... Mostly this has to do with the way they "lock down" the products and refuse to allow for TRUE creativity! WHY CAN'T I HAVE THE ABILTY TO ADD MY OWN SOUNDS OR TO RECORD OR SHARE BETWEEN APPS?! AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, I BOUGHT THE SOUND PACKS FOR THE IPHONE VERSION. THEY SHOULD PORT OVER TO THIS VERSION! They possess better sounds and loops, by far, than this one... PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! Your inhibiting our creativity in the name of profit and wanting to keep such tight control over what is actually possible! CHANGE THIS, AND I WILL ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND WOULD GLADLY RECOMMEND OTHERS PURCHASE WHAT YOU PUT OUT... BUT AT THE PRICE RANGE THIS APP IS I WOULD EXPECT WAY MORE AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE OTHER BETTER PRODUCED AND LESS RESTRICTIVE APPS....
Stunningly innovative and fun - missing key features

I disagree with the previous negative reviews. the app is stunningly innovative and the realisation on the iPad works really well. At this price point Steinberg clearly regard this as a serious music app - and I'd agree - but to be serious it needs the ability to load your own loops….. pre-canned loops just won't cut it at all. In addition it needs a means to mix down to an audio file and also it needs midi sync. There are other things it needs (panning is pretty obvious) but the above 3 are absolutely essential. I am fully expecting that version 1.1 will have all of those features (I can't believe that they won't be coming) - then I'll be back to give it 5 stars. Great stuff Steinberg!!

Mash up is pretty big these days and this app keeps up and instep if you take the time to know what the parameters do to affect the piece. Hopefully, a new release will transfer more of the options from the mainframe version inside Cubase. You have to have a sensibility about Mash Up to really appreciate this product.
