1. Adjust the detection sensitivity slider until green circles are placed around every coin in the group, and no extra circles appear anywhere else.

2. The app's image processing algorithms automatically self-calibrate based on the current lighting and focus to identify the coins.

3. When the number of coins stabilizes, select the coin type and click add.

4. It displays the number of coins it counts in the bottom right hand corner.

5. Spread the coins out in each group so that no coins are on top of each other, and so that the groups are clearly separated.

6. The dollar amount corresponding to the number of coins is added to the total.

7. A convenient user interface assists in tallying the sum of the coins.

8. Disclaimer: To be absolutely clear, this app does not identify your coins.

Decent Circle Counter

This is a pseudo-realtime circle counter which then multiplies the number of circles by the denomination of the circular coin it has counted. I find it easier to separate the coins and count them myself. You have to separate the coins so they are spaced out and only the single denomination (e.g. quarters) is in the frame and then hold the video image still while it properly identifies each one of the coins as a circle, then press the button that corresponds to the coin value, and it adds the calculated amount to the total. I had to do four images for my $4.32 combination of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. I do find this a very cool exercise in doing a simple machine vision app on a mobile device, but the author at least needs to figure out how to convert it to use a photo rather than video. Two stars for creativity and furthering the engineering cause!

It's probably faster to just count the coins yourself, but what's the fun in that? If you're lazy like me, this is the next best way to count your loose change. Just be sure you're in a fairly well-lit area, and that you are placing the coins on a plain background.
All it needs is to id coins

Cool app but it needs to I'd coins by size and color so then If u have a big pill u don't have to separate them if this can applied in some way I will pay for it
