Software Features and Description

1. And if you are the kids reading this, don’t worry about the sound; I have made sure that all you need to know can be read, I am sorry, I didn’t know you couldn’t hear the sound, I am sorry kids.

2. But then I saw this one review months later [it was the only review at the time] and it makes me all emotional when I realize that through a teacher, I have benefited a group of deaf students.

3. The program will be "talking" to you in a way [via text, not voice] through the top panel, a new feature created for the kids [I will explain it later].

4. I hope this will make you and your kids happy, I felt so happy writing this and from all the work I’ve placed on this new version with my heart.

5. My Grandson plays with this thing more than his other toys and I've take advantage of that to teach him math...this has so much potential...I hope the author of this app knows this as well! Looking forward to updates.

6. When I first created this program, it was to further a concept I have in my mind, to create a calculator that visually shows the interaction of numbers.

7. It made me cry a little [Yes, I am a man and I cry...] to know that a simple idea from me could help a small group of deaf students.

8. Previous users of this program will find that the interface has been COMPLETELY redesign, hell even the Tag engine itself have been completely rewritten for speed.

9. This is for you kids...and your Teacher Cobalt Chameleon.

10. With all the motions the program will be generating, you will literally be seeing how numbers interact with each other.

11. "I teach 5th grade deaf students, so we rely heavily on visual learning.

  • Very Nice App

    By ccnelsonjr (Pcmac user)

Being a Star Trek fan, this is particularly nifty. My only suggestions would be to add the ability to add labels to the tags to assist in reference during long, multi-step calculations to facilitate re-use of tags in building larger calculations. Second, I would also suggest adding the ability to have multiple pages of tags that can be stored and recalled from memory. I also find that once I put something into the memory, the only way to completely clear it is to completely exit and re-enter the app. Way to think outside the box, great app. This has become my standard replacement calculator, since Apple decided not to include a calculator in the iPad!
  • A Virtual MUST HAVE Calculator

By Echo of the Event Horizon (Pcmac user)

The list of what was done right &/or better than any other calculator is just too long to write it out here. It's simply amazing how versatile this calculator is. But, perhaps by reading what I'd like added to this list, you'll begin to see just how much potential this app holds & how it is poised to revolutionize the Calculator genre. I've come to depend on it to solve multiple equations while displaying all the answers in an onscreen "list" while keeping every answer fully active & available for further manipulation & calculations. My wish/request is for a "labeler" I would like to be able to type a label for any number (the numerical answer to a calculation I've just done or simply a number I create with the numeric keypad & place on the screen. The "label" should appear in relatively small text just above the number & either within or just above (sitting on top of the rectangular box containing the number it is labeling. I noticed another reviewer had the same idea & request My 2nd request is for an "undo" button that would undo the last thing done (or, if possible, multable undos from: undoing the last calculation (remove the answer & return all numbers used in the calculation to their respective pre-calculation locations the screen where they were prior to the calculation). To re-displaying a mistakenly deleted number (or multiple numbers, if they were deleted together). Those requests should help you (the review reader) just how amazing to see the amazing potential held within this app AND help you to realize how useful it is - even as is. I really believe this is a MUST HAVE app, easily dominating the builtin calculator & other cal apps.
  • A Breakthrough

    By Mr.Sir,Esq. (Pcmac user)

I bought the previous version of this app and was impressed with its possibilities. This new version is even more promising, and I congratulate the developer on his achievement. Traditional calculators are limited to a small display window because of technological limitations on those devices. This app allows for the user to place and arrange all of the numbers that they will be using for a calculation on a large screen BEFORE they start doing any calculations with them. There's only a few things that are missing, and I hope the developer reads this review and considers these suggestions. When a number is created in this app, it's in a field called a called a "tag". With traditional calculators, the user has to remember what figures they are going to be using, and/or remember the results of previous calculations. Not only that, but they have to remember the relevance of each number. For example if you added John's restaurant bill of $4.00 and Mary's bill of $3.00, you'd have their combined bill of $7.00. Just seeing "4", "3", and "7" in a calculator window is limiting, and with this new app it might finally be unnecessary. There is no reason that each tag generated in this app couldn't have editable text attached to it. The tags have enough space to accommodate a label, and the "report panel" at the top of the screen could show both the labels AND the math used to get a resulting figure... which could also be labelled. Also, it would be useful if the app allowed for the ability to create a "corral" on part of the screen where labelled numbers could be placed/stored- so the user can continue to work on new, relevant calculations on the rest of the screen. That way, tags that were in the "corral" would not be affected by calculations that the tags outside of the corral would. This would be useful if a user were exploring different mathematical scenarios with interest rates or something, and needed to (1). use the same numbers again and again, and (2). reference the results of previous calculations. If an editable labeling feature were available, keeping all of these numbers in a "corral" would keep them all visible, individually recognizable, and ready to use. Lastly, since calculator use is frequently concerned with money, it might be helpful if there were a function that rounded for currency and displayed a "$" before a figure. This app is truly taking advantage of what a touch screen computer can do and is a marvelous innovation. I hope that it finds a user base, and that the developer continues to enhance the app.
