Need multiple-file upload capability!
By Hfigv (Pcmac user)
The app is fine to view what I have on my home NAS. But what I really need is the ability to upload multiple files to my the app. It's not uncommon to be disconnected for long periods of time, and then need to upload multiple files. I was recently on a vacation trip, and found this to be the case at the end of every single day When I wanted to upload my photos to my the app Home.
Additionally, the app should not rename the files based on the timestamp of when the upload occurs. I would want to be able to upload my iPhone photos with the same name they have on the iPhone. Then when I return home, I can easily compare what has already been uploaded with what is actually on my device. When you change the filename, that makes it impossible to do!
Fix this one flaw, and you will have a fan for life (even if you limit me to a certain number of files at a time, this would be a tremendous improvement)!!!

I want to love this app
By nova1kanoba (Pcmac user)
But I can't help but disappointed that there is no easy way to create a playlist for files. Also THE LACK of play when the app is minimized (background play)OR the iPhone screen goes blank is a major flaw. How can I enjoy my files (music) when the tracks stop playing when the screen fades? This could be a very useful app, but it falls short. So if you plan to only view this app and keep your screen lit up, you will love this app. For the 99% of users that don't work that way, you will be annoyed much like myself. The physical drives that this app is associated to is great, but this App lacks the well thought out integration that the PC software has.
Well see if seagate improves functionality. If they do, I'll update my review.
Update: Still no meaningful updates. This is very disappointing seagate. I would think it would be a somewhat easy fix to address the majority of complaints on your reviews. Reducing the rating in hopes that you make changes.

Very limited
By Waisting Away (Pcmac user)
I love the idea of having my the app Home and all of its contents available to me from my iPad and iPhone. However, the capabilities of this app are very limited. You can stream music but it will not allow you to run it in the background while using other apps. It is great to be able to view photos and PDF's but what about files made in the latest version Word, Excel, and PowerPoint? Forget about adding, deleting, copying, or moving files on your the app. You can only view them. Don't waste your time installing this app. It will only disappoint you. Try Filebrowser instead. It is not free but for $4.99 it will let you do many things that are necessary when using NAS.

Absolute garbage
By kuakeye (Pcmac user)
This app works, don't get me wrong. But the amount of bugs/things that don't work in this app are absolutely overwhelming. For instance, one of my folders in my the app contains 10 movies, all of them are .mp4 files. For some reason, 3/10 videos actually worked. The videos are IDENTICAL in format and yet only 3 of the 10 could play.
Also, forget trying to play .avi files. None of those work. Furthermore, out of the 3 videos I was able to play, the audio was TOTALLY out of sync with the video.
This is a great app with potential (my iPad has basically increased its storage at home by 125x) but the glitches, bugs, and unsupported video format issues make this app a not-working piece of garbage.
--UPDATE:
Now I cannot even get past the authentication screen. It just says request timed out after 30 seconds of loading/logging in. Garbage.
