  • The Best To Do Manager – and I've tried them all

    By Drewonimo (Pcmac user)

I've been using this app off and on for several years but only recently upgraded AND got the app FREE iPhone app that works well, and has instant push notifications. It made a very good product excellent. I've tried a ton of other apps and they all had limitations that were deal breakers. Things is very good but too inflexible and, frankly, too expensive for the app feature list. Where Things is rigid, this app allows you to organize the app way that YOU like to see your lists. the app easy shortcuts for outlining the app lists and keeping them organized make it a quick and painless experience to use. That said, I only gave it 4 stars because while I haven't had many issues (so far), a visit to the app developer's website shows that user feedback and questions go unanswered for months or years. the app commitment to an excellent piece of software is a little iffy. But it works and it's elegant and easy and powerful.
  • Best of them -- and I've used Wunderlist, Producteev and Omnifocus

    By Uncleschnell (Pcmac user)

Not knocking the app other products -- they are very good as well. But this one is super-intuitive in the app way that you can just "enter and forget" and then later go back and structure your day, your plans and projects. What I really love is how I am asked little information when just emptying tasks from my mind. Also, the app iPhone app is just fantastic -- this is the app fastest I've ever seen for syncing info from the app desktop app and PC. With some of the app other ones I had to wait 20 second or longer before I could start entering tasks on the app mobile app -- or else the app sync isn't secure. Just one of two feature requests -- I would like the app ability to change the app backgrounds, as in Wunderlist (I love those backgrounds). Also maybe a menubar or some quck indicator -- but what is there is also good enough.
  • Tried them all. This is hands down the best.

Tried all the app other contenders: Things App is good, but not enough control and starts getting cumbersome and fiddly if you have too many tasks. No subtasks and you’re locked into their way of doing things in projects. Just becomes a pain the app more you put into it. this app towers above it by being super easy to customize, use your own way, and doesn’t get bogged down when you have a zillion tasks. And shortcuts via keyboard make it extremely fast and intuitive to organize your tasks and move them about. Omnifocus is just far too complicated. this app is simple and clean and fast. Just makes sense and you don’t need to spend months learning it like Omni. Yes, I have pretty much tried every other GTD app out there. Every time I was tempted to leave this app, I kept coming back to it again and again because it just works: quick, easy, intuitive, clean, and it gets out of your way. Syncing is great with no issues. Does NOT lock up your computer. Has all the app options you need. No bloat at all. And the app companion iPhone app (now in a new version) is awesome. I can’t recommend this app enough. It is what keeps everything in my life in order.
  • A very flexible, customizable, and fast task manager

    By Kadrey (Pcmac user)

This is by far my favorite task manager on the app Mac. I have used Things, tried Omnifocus, and demoed numerous other programs, but none of them have offered as complete a package for my particular needs as this app. --Sync is very fast. Omnifocus, by comparison, seems as slow as molasses. I never even notice that when this app is syncing in the app background, and I've never run into a sync problem. --Folder organization and smart folders are nice. This is a very versitile program. You can probably customize it very closely to your particular needs. --I like the app notecard view. It is actually more useful on the app iPhone version. It is fun flipping through cards when conducting weekly reviews. the app lack of a real global search is an issue, but certaintly doesn't warrent dropping the app review to one star. As it is, I just switch to the app "Upcoming" folder when I am searching for anything, and I usually find what I'm looking for with no problem. the app one problem I can think of is actually not with this program, but with the app companion iPhone app. It is not nearly as polished or bug free as the app Mac version. Overall, good job to the app devs! Keep it up.
