Install Awareness!® For Etymotic app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Awareness!"
The search will reveal the Awareness!® For Etymotic app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Awareness! is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Awareness!.
Now enjoy Awareness! on PC.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Awareness!,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Awareness!" » then Click "Install".
- Awareness!® For Etymotic will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Complete BS!!!

This is complete bull$#|t!!! They discontinued the app just to charge you $15. It's one thing to add features and charge for them, but to not fix an incompatibility with iOS 10 and charge for the fix is shameful! The app wasn't that great to begin with. Your expensive headphones go from superb quality to crap with this app. Sure, you sometimes could hear ambient noise around you, but it jumped in and out was very distracting. If I could give this app, negative stars, I would.
Can't register

I can't actually rate the app, because Etymotic's registration page has been "coming soon" since I bought my headset two weeks ago. They also did not respond to the message I left them. Edited Jan 4: still no response from Etymotic about activating the app, and the registration page is now not found. Did you skip town, Etymotic? Haven't been able to take full advantage of what they promised, and I feel cheated.
iOS update has broken this

Used to love this app- especially when working very early or late and wanting to hear my surroundings on the streets. Since the newest iOS update (iPhone 4s) the app doesn't transmit mic audio to headphones. It shows up on the meter but no pass through.
