Install Japanese Soroban app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using Japanese Soroban on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Japanese Soroban"
- The search will reveal the Japanese Soroban app icon. Open, then click "Install".
- Once Japanese Soroban is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Japanese Soroban.
- Now enjoy Japanese Soroban on PC.

For Windows 11, check if there's a native Japanese Soroban Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:
- To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.
- To use Japanese Soroban,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Japanese Soroban" » then Click "Install".
- Japanese Soroban will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Good but very basic

It is an abacus. For learning the ropes, it is very handy.
Pros
You can click-hold the left mouse button and move multiple beads at a time.
Have the option to either show the number that the current configuration corresponds to (Practice) or to not show the number (Soroban).
The website linked by the "Instructions" button is very handy.
Cons
It does not support hotkeys, only the mouse moves the beads.
The screen is not resizable.
No volume control.
No easy toggle between Practice/Soroban. Must return to the home screen and click on the other one to switch.
Instructions opens in your default web browser, so you'll have to hit the esc button on your keyboard to get to it.
No hotkey for hiding the application.

It would be really cool if this had multi-touch functionality… it would make it more realistic.
Eg: ability to slide the 5-marker at the same time as a marker below it.
