App is not working
By SenatorT (Pcmac user)
The app does not load the weather. All I see is a red exclamation mark in the menu bar which I cannot close or manipulate in any way unless I reboot my machine. The developer's twitter feed states that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix, but that was a posting from September 14, and it is now December 1. There is no mention of this issue on the App Store page, so I am posting this review in the hope that others don't end up in the same situation I did. I've requested a refund through Apple in the meantime.

Not bad, but it’s lost some options
By Sodbuster95 (Pcmac user)
Overall, the new “look” of the app isn’t bad as it seems clean and somewhat reminiscent of an iOS feel. However, the interface is a bit goofy and not intuitive. For example, to go back to the daily view from the hourly, there’s no arrow or indication that you click the forecast. Also, the cloud and gear icons to bring up the submenus strikes me as a bit odd. My biggest complaint, though, is the removal of some of the more granular settings that allowed me to control what information was displayed in the current, daily, and hourly forecast. You can also no longer choose how many days to include in the forecast.
Oh, and I too agree with others that the new name is mystifying. If you want to use a Latin word, it would seem more logical to use one somewhat more connected with the point of the software. “MenuWeather” may not have been very creative, but it’s the principal reason I found the old program in the first place.
EDIT: Since updating to “this app”, this app routinely no longer loads weather. Instead, I get nothing but a red exclamation mark and error that it couldn’t connect. This has gotten progressively worse and now it rarely actually loads anything. Unfortunately, this formely good app has now been relegated to the worthless category at this point.

No problem for me.. lucky?
By Versini (Pcmac user)
I've been using the free version for a while and really liked it. It's simple and uncluttered. I wanted to reward the author so I was about to get the paid version but then I read all the terrible reviews...
I decided to reach out to the author before jumping the gun, just to know exactly what the difference was between the free and paid version, letting him know why I was unsure about it. A few hours later Evan (it's the author's name) replied very honestly, letting me know that the paid version always worked for him but if I was unsure about it, I should wait until a brand new version coming this summer, which by the way would be a free upgrade.
Because of the honest answer, I decided to buy and try it. Worst case scenario I just go back to the free version and wait for this summer update.
Well, I've been running the paid one for a few hours now and it's working as well as the free one. Maybe it's just luck?

Okay…could be better
By Vihainen Hirvi (Pcmac user)
I really like to have the weather easily accessible in the menu bar, and this app does an okay job. First, the temperature is never right - I'll check multiple sources for the temperature sometimes, and this app is always off. Not the end of the world, but sometimes 10 degrees might mean the difference between sweater weather and jacket weather. What's the use of a weather app if I have to check elsewhere to confirm the current conditions? Also, the automatic location feature stopped working some time ago (Lion, maybe?). I've got location services turned on, but it fails every time. I travel quite a bit, so having this update as I move around would be really nice. Also, this version freezes and crashes quite a bit in Mountain Lion.
So, if you're okay with a ballpark figure of the current temperature/conditions and you don't travel much, this app will do the trick. Really wish it was better, though.
