  • Perfect solution

    By 505rush (Pcmac user)

I recently purchased a new vehicle and saved a bundle on not getting a full-blown factory radio (that could only be used in that vehicle) because I already had a FM transmitter, 2 days later it gave up the ghost. It never was that great, lots of dropouts and always having to change frequencies due to interference (even though it had a rather long wire antenna), and so instead of replacing it I went on the hunt for a better solution and found the this app. I emailed the factory with a few questions and Bill got back to me within an hour or so. Still not convinced that the unit would work any better then the one I had I downloaded the app and watched the channel selection feature as I drove around in what are normally RF rich areas of town. I was so impressed with it that I figured I'd give the unit a try. I've had the unit for a couple days now and haven't had to change my frequency selection once. The FM (RF) link is rock solid even tough my power point is low on the dash and there is a lot of metal between the this app and my radio's antenna. Set up was as advertised, took about 30 seconds to pair up my 4S and my IPod. If you want a SOLID, SEAMLESS, WIRELESS, PORTABLE, and FEATURE RICH SOLUTION to connecting your music to any vehicle you maybe in, this is the answer. Thanks Bill and the crew at New Potato.
  • For Bluetooth, this thing is great!

    By Psmipadder (Pcmac user)

I was skeptical about this device after reading some of the negative reviews but still took the plunge. I'm so glad I did! I really wanted a device that I could tuck out of sight and be able to play Sirius, Pandora, etc. from my new iPhone 4S. The this app works perfectly. Now, admittedly, I did try to use the FM modulator and it did not work so great. Honestly, this is not the TuneLinks fault - I am in a busy part of the country where they have stuck radio stations on nearly every band - including 88.3. It worked but the other stations leaked in. So, I hooked up the audio jack to the radio, turned on the Bluetooth (incredibly easy!), and everything worked perfectly. I love the fact that I can make adjustments with an app and the autoplay feature is spectacular. I've had it for 2 weeks now and love it! Oh, another thing, remember this does not serve as a handsfree phone...I think they make this pretty clear but I have read other reviews where people were dissappointed by this. For me, I just want the audio piece. I have tried other handsfree setups and, quite frankly, think most of them are lacking. Use this for audio transmission and you will be thrilled.
  • Needs update

    By hzlswrld09 (Pcmac user)

I absolutely love this thing.. I first got it when I had the 4s and it worked great.. When I get the 5 it would connect automatically then disconnects with about 5 seconds but when I go back and reconnect it to the Bluetooth it works great the rest of the time in the car.. Now after an update to ios6 it won't stay connected at all. My Bluetooth can't even find the signal in range even though its on an I'm in the car.. I have to unplug the adapter for a few minutes plug it back in and hope it connects.. If it does it normally drops signal randomly a few songs later. Ive been waiting for an update since august so i wouldn't have to go through such a hassle to get this thing to work. The only reason I bought this one is because I don't have an aux in my car. But now I wish I did since there is an aux adapter that is only $30 and it works great as opposed to $100 where maybe it works and maybe it doesn't. My first review was 5 stars this one is 3 next will be five one stars stating I bought a whole new radio with an aux already in it.. Please update!?
  • 2013 Software update needed now!!!!

    By Tlhelp (Pcmac user)

Works when it wants too.... And when it does, it's great to have. software is in need of an update because the touch feature is locked when the device doesn't connect. No matter what you try to do such as unplug the device from the car charging port, closing the tune link program etc... it stays locked. it will turn on for a 3 second period but then again switched to the red, not connected... this happens with either the cords are plugged in or not. The only remedy that will work is for you to reset your iPad (home button and power button together) when it does work, its nice to have while driving. The program also locks the screen and will not switch to landscape view. For the price of $100 (+\-) that you pay for this item, i really hope they get us a software update that will fix these issues. Also make the (+) selection for adding songs bigger for your fingers.....
