Software Features and Description

1. OptoDrum is an easy to use replacement for a bulky optokinetic drum or a fraying cloth tape to elicit optokinetic nystagmus for evaluation of neurological, otological, and opthalmological disorders.

2. Simply place the iPhone with a moving pattern in front of a patient’s eye to elicit the response.

3. • Drag a finger up or down the screen to make the pattern move at the speed of your finger.

4. • A left or right finger swipe switches a stopped pattern to the next one in rotation.

5. The stripe pattern, width, and speed are easily adjustable.

6. • OptoDrum provides five patterns: black stripes, red stripes, mixed colors, symbols, and animals.

7. • Pinch or zoom the pattern with two fingers to narrow or widen the pattern.

8. • Double tap the moving pattern to make it stop.

Download and install the OptoDrum app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks Pc or Mac software Here >> .

Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using OptoDrum on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "OptoDrum"
The search will reveal the OptoDrum app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once OptoDrum is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including OptoDrum.
Now enjoy OptoDrum on PC.

Using OptoDrum on Mac OS:
Install OptoDrum on your Mac using the same steps for Windows OS above.

To get OptoDrum on Windows 11, check if there's a native OptoDrum Windows app here » ». If none, follow the steps below:

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Installing OptoDrum:
- Login to your computer's PlayStore or Amazon AppStore.
- Search for "OptoDrum" » Click "Install" to install OptoDrum
- OptoDrum will now be available on your windows start-menu.

Does the job

It's a little tricky but with enough pinching, tapping the top where the icon bar appears, and sliding down on the screen you can change settings. Direction is changed by catching the movement to a stop and dragging slowly in reverse. It works better with young pediatrics than traditional methods of kinetic assessment and therapy, so worth $5!
Doesn't work as described

My first use of the darned thing and it won't stop on double tap as directed. It will change directions but not stop. Five bucks for a crap app. How about .99? At least I won't feel ripped off for buying an app that doesn't work from the start. Not to mention that it's just rolling bars! Haven't found color options yet, so that may not work either. Don't buy.
Not worth spending money on

Some Apps have thousands of hours of programming. This App is maybe 2 hours and cost $5!!! Should 1000% be free. Its rudimentary.
Stop doesn’t work

Can’t stop the movement with double tap so once it’s going I can’t change between them.
