What is iPoint? The app is designed to help users store their favorite spots or routes while traveling using their iPhone's built-in A-GPS. The app stores the route in Google's KML format, which can be viewed on Google Maps or Google Earth. Users can also record pictures in PNG or JPEG format and define the compression ratio to ensure the best quality picture. The app allows users to store these photos on their Camera Roll for easy access and use the recompress feature to reduce the size of the pictures for easy emailing. Users can send their points, tracklogs, and pictures via email or upload them to their computer using iTunes.
1. Use this tool to store your favorite spots or routes while taking a trip, using your iPhone's built in A-GPS.
2. The route will be stored in Google's KML format, enabling you to check them out on Google Maps, or Google Earth.
3. If you like, store these photos on your Camera Roll as well, making sure you can access them easily.
4. If you recorded too many picures - making hard to e-mail them - you can use the recompress feature with the settings you define.
5. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
