  • OK for small number of simple slides

    By Asktog (Pcmac user)

I found this app difficult to set up, confusing to run, and quite capable of getting off track. The setup on the IPad was easy enough, but not so on the Mac. I could find no coherent set of step-by-step instructions. Instead, I tried to link my iPad to my Mac only to be told I must have a firewall issue, etc., when the problem was I hadn't started up the app on the Mac yet. Nowhere did it explain whether the Powerpoint slides needed to be opened yet or whether Powerpoint needed to be running. ( I still don't know. I just kept beating on everything until it finally worked.) When the app initialized, it apparently makes a low-res movie of your slides, then sends the movie to the iPad. This movie may vary significantly from your slides if you are doing complex animations. If you, in a burst of enthusiasm, return to your laptop & click on Powerpoint, as far as I can tell, i-click will permanently disconnect. Therefore, if you've a few slides with no complex transitions, i- click will do. Otherwise, consider the more general tool, LogMeIn. LogMeIn is particularly useful if your computer supports two screens. You can echo the control screen on your iPad, showing not only an accurate, hi-res image of the current slide, but the previous & next slides, as well.
  • Has potential

    By Bio. prof (Pcmac user)

The app has great potential...but connection issues make it somewhat frustrating to use. It also seems to time out and fail to connect to the computer after about 30 minutes. This can be fixed by going out of the app, then entering again, but it's frustrating. I think the developers may be able to fix some connection issues, and when they do it will be a wonderful app. I also think that the the annotation feature could be significantly improved by adding a laser pointer feature. Overall...okay, but not great as currently presented.
  • Good Potential

    By TXDocStudent (Pcmac user)

I think this app has good potential. I would like to see the ability to play videos that are embedded in the presentation through the app. I had a few connectivity issues like others have stated (e.g., stability). I will likely forgo using this app during professional presentations until all the bugs are worked out and the technology is reliable. I hope the next update will address crashes and enable remote video play (i.e. videos that are part do the ppt or Keynote presentation).
  • Potential

It has the potential to be a great app, however connecting to Mac by wifi or ad hoc is tricky, connection is unstable and app tends to freeze during presentation. Support so far has been quick … expensive app and I hope they get it to be more stable. Other developers have a pen function so you can write on slide during presentation … for this price They should have this function … all in all it is almost brilliant
