What is VetMath?

VetMath is a medical calculator app that helps medical professionals calculate medication doses for patients. The app functions like a spreadsheet of drug calculations, where users input the patient's weight and select the drug list they are interested in. The app then shows the calculated doses for that drug list. Users can also create their own drug lists with their preferred doses, which saves time during busy workdays.

Software Features and Description

1. Because you create and save your preferred drug lists ahead of time, you end up saving time during the busy work day for both daily routine calculations and for those infrequent drug usage times as well (e.g. species or conditions you don't see on a daily basis).

2. •Add, remove, sort, and edit drugs in each drug list as desired.

3. As medical professionals it is your responsibility to determine whether a particular drug and/or drug dose is appropriate for a particular patient.

4. •Also included are examples of other organizing Categories (Equine, Exotics, Food Animal, and Other) that do not have any current drug lists associated with them.

5. •Edit Drugs: From the main VetMath view, select the desired drug Category.

6. Depending upon which species you see in practice you may want to add drug lists to these or remove them as desired.

7. Just input the patient weight, select which drug list you are interested in, and the next screen shows you the calculated doses for that drug list.

8. •Included are sample drug lists for canine and feline emergency (CPR) and antibiotic drug calculations.

9. More detailed information about the calculations for each drug is available on another screen as desired.

10. •For each drug include the drug concentration if available for the particular drug, and your preferred drug dose.

11. You can also add an optional dose range (low dose and high dose), an optional maximum total dose, and optional notes for each drug.

  • Great

People, please read the app's description. It is NOT intended to give you all the data, but allows you to fill the folders with the drugs of your choice. We all use a certain group of drugs that we feal more comfortable with. This app allows you to have only those in a list. Additionally, the notes section allows meat and milk withderwal info, although it would have been great to have a separate field for this.

This app is great! Those of u who expected all of the drugs used in a animal hospital to be already loaded I can see how u would be disappointed but this does have all the drugs we use avalible to be added into app but does require putting ml/kg and so on that ur practice uses. If this app had every drug it would be harder to get calculations quick because u would have to scroll through all the drugs to find the one u want! This app is made to be modified to your practices needs so those of u interested in this app this is a great app but expect to add the drugs most frequently used for ur practice. On behalf of my veterinay practice and all the furry friends we treat thank u to whom ever made this app it has really helped our very fast pace veterinary practice!
  • Expensive but still great

I absolutely love this app and use it daily. I highly recommend downloading and using. My favorite aspect is it does not come pre-loaded with dosages, but you put your preferred dosages in.
  • Great!

    By Dr. Chels (Pcmac user)

I just wanted to comment in here because this app is AMAZING. I am a new vet with so many things to learn, but stopping to calculate the dose on every drug is no longer a huge task. I use this app to help me on a daily basis and it has improved my efficiency. I told all my vet friends to get it and encourage all to check it out. Please never phase this app out- I need it!
