Download and install Runtastic Fitness Running App on your Laptop or Desktop computer

If you want to install and use the Runtastic Fitness Running App app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Runtastic Fitness Running App in the search bar and press Search. Click on Runtastic Fitness Running Appapplication icon. A window of Runtastic Fitness Running App on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Runtastic Fitness Running App for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • Micoach features missing.

    by Elbee1
This app is fine. I have a premium account. But I can’t help but miss what I loved about it when it was Micoach. 1)TRAINING ZONES You did a little assessment test and it adjusted your training for you. I became a better runner because of that. The app would tell you to speed up or slow down into your zone based on the initial assessment. The app does not assess you. It tells you to “ run at a comfortable pace” and then walk. This doesn’t work for someone like me that does not consider herself a runner. I need guidance and I don’t get that here. 2) DEADLINES- I used to be able to tell the app what day I was training for. For example, a 10k in December and it would adjust my training days. So a further out date might have less trainings per week than a date that was coming up. No option for that now. You can only pick a training plan based on time. Ex- I want to be able to run 30 minutes in 6 weeks. I also want to be able to run faster in those 30 minutes at the end of those 6 weeks. 3)HALFWAY MARKER- notification that I was halfway done with my workout so that I knew when to turn around. What I’m doing for that now is setting a timer on my watch. I’ve downloaded a few other apps but none gives me what I had with Micoach and this seems to be the one I like second best as I keep coming back to it. It syncs well with my Apple Watch and I like that. I also like the auto pause feature.
  • App/Developer NOT Trustworthy. Be aware!

    by iReview4You!
Signed up for the 7-day trial as the app does not allow all features (eg: “Plan” features that allows for preparing to run marathon ) unless you sign up for the premium/subscription. Even after signing up for the Premium subscription when you try to use the Plan feature for running marathon the app does not allow you to start the plan right away. Instead it only allows you to start the plan a week later. So, essentially even though I had signed up for the premium subscription I still couldn't use the feature until my 7-day trial ended. To make things worse, I don't see any place within the app where I can cancel the 7-day trial subscription before it auto renews. Based on my experience so far, I do not trust the app or the developer. First the app is in "trial" mode ; however not all features are enabled in the trial mode. Then in order to use the apps full functionality, you have to sign-up up for the Premium. Even after signing up you can't use the Plan because it doesn't allow you to start the Plan right away until the trial expires. Finally, by the 7th day the app auto charges for the entire year. Once the annual subscription has started you can not cancel our request refund. I hate to say this but I think this app is a scam. Be aware!
  • Just okay

    by parade72
Update: after the most recent update, the voice alerts during runs either don't work or became too soft (even with phone on maximum volume) so they cannot be heard. I can no longer tell when I have completed half the run and need to turn around. I checked the help section in the app but the search field it opens in the browser doesn't work either (I can type in the search terms but clicking "Done" or the magnifying glass does nothing). I guess I shouldn't use automatic updates on this app. Old review : I have only used it for a few weeks and likely only basic features compared to others, but it has been fantastic so far. A really nice feature it has that my previous app did not is to set a workout goal, in duration, distance, or other, and during the workout it will let you know when you are halfway done (very useful during a run so I know when to turn around). It also tells you the pace periodically. It download the map when I have access to internet and the app works when I lose wifi during a run. I haven't looked at the history data yet but so far it has everything I was looking for
  • Locked out of account without support

    by Elizabessy
I’m leaving this one star review in an attempt to get support. I have been using Runtastic for years and absolutely love the app. This morning, my app was logged out. I tried to sign back in but it would not accept my password. No big deal, I always leave it logged in and haven’t had to use my actual password in a very long time so I forgot it. I tried the website on my laptop. That was also logged out. I tried the “forgot my password” link which assured me it would send an email to reset. It did not sent. I checked all my folders. No email. I’ve tried repeatedly now from both the app and the website but no email has been sent. I tried to go though Help & Support through the link at the bottom of the website. Did you know you can’t use support if you’re not logged in?? 😳 I found a way to try to Make A Suggestion but same thing. No support for those who are locked out of their account. I am a premium member and I feel like I am stranded alone on an island of doom and loneliness. Please send help. SOS. I miss being a happy Runtastic fanatic. Help me change my one star back into the 5 it deserves.
  • First review

    by Maida K
I am going to be updating this as I use it longer. My first review is not a positive one. Yes , I paid for the premier version. Today I was supposed to do a 40 minute run. I start up the app on my Apple Watch and to my disappointment the Runtastic app only works with your watch if you have your phone on you. Not a chance am I carrying my phone while I run (iPhone 7). So that's a big disappointment so far. The Runtastic app in general (on the watch) freezes way to often. Too many glitches. I will keep updating as I go, not sure if the money I paid for this is worth it yet. Time will tell. Oh, I cannot find my initial test results anywhere!! I know I entered them but they are nowhere to be found on the app. Update 2: I have the new watch and it’s been a while since I’ve used the app. So far I’m doing the 5k intermediate training plan and everything is going really great. Pros: easy to sync between my watch and phone. Person talks to you and provides count downs. Music controlled within app. Cons: I still think that this app only works while your phone is with you. For example,’I don’t think I can start my plan for my 5k with my watch alone, I have to navigate to it with my phone and then have my phone on me. The watch simply mimics my phone. Data read back could be better. In addition to seeing my pace a cross each mile. I would love to see what my pace is for the timed intervals. That’s it for now. Will keep updating.
  • Incredibly Helpful Tool for During the Run

    by Teacherman123
I used this to train for and complete my first marathon. The gps tracking, even when I did not have internet while running in other countries, is my primary draw. I also love that it gives the interactive map with pacing. One thing to keep it from 5 stars is the planning feature. It is not customizable enough to be really helpful. For example, it should have you set a date and then back track a plan for you, rather than determine when you are done. Also, I trained for my marathon intensely for 7 weeks, and although I know that’s not advised, it was what I did, so I would have liked the option to shorten the time. Instead, I found internet training plans and used this app as active tracking, which it did exceptionally well.
  • Love the app!

    by Vari01
Update 5/4 Still love this app! Awesome improvements. I have been using this app for about three years when I first started training for a mini. I have been a premium user for quite some time and I enjoy all the features and like it more now that I have an iwatch! It there a way to view average running pace from phone or watch? I like getting the notification of pace at each mile but when I view watch, it’s typically displaying a slower time than what I am running. Overall it does the job and I love the other apps available! Ps....for yearly mile goals...can I please enter a number rather than the slide bar? 🙂. Looking forward to another year of running! This app has helped me tremendously!
  • Great App- Easy to use

    by TimTime72
I’ve used this app for many years. It’s easy to download, connect and go. I listen to my music the whole time and there is no interruption. When you reach your milestones it lets you know so it’s a nice little motivator to keep going. My wife and I both use it to have playful competition to see who ends the week with the most activity. This world is not the same anymore and it’s easy to lose focus with all the stresses coming at you every day. We start with runtastic to keep us connected to our main purpose- to be present and enjoy life! Download and go get em.
  • Was good but not so much now

    by Vongx
I’ve used this app for several years. It was tracking my distance by gps on my phone accurately until the last 6 months. Now it tracks my pace at 80 seconds faster than it should. I tried the fixes suggested with no luck. It was tracking on my Apple Watch accurately so I stopped using the app on the phone while running and was using the app only on the Apple watch. But now the app isn’t tracking accurately on my watch. It tracks my pace at 60 seconds slower than it should . Before anyone purchases a promembership, I’d suggest they test the free version to make sure gps tracks distance accurately on the phone/watch. For me it did accurately for years, but not lately.
  • Great new look with nice features

    by nsj1018
The new look is amazing. I like the reminders this app sends almost everyday regarding running, work outs, etc. Their blog posts are awesome too, pretty short to read and contain value. I’ve never used the GPS system though, so can’t comment on that. Overall, I really like this particular running app compared to others. I’ve seen many advertisements in other apps’ free version which are very minimal, or perhaps, unnoticeable in this app. And moreover, this app motivates you with free one year premium if you complete certain challenges. Great work Adidas.
