  • Fantastic App

    By jazzpicker24 (Pcmac user)

I use this app every day and man, am I glad they made it. Besides Mail and Safari this is the app I use most often. There is really nothing out there quite like it. Rhythmically it is right on the money - steady like any better metronome application and the sound quality is great. I actually prefer it over BIAB. The interface is laid out very thoughtfully into three main areas - the song list, playback screen and edit screen. Each of these have their own set of tools. The template->edit approach makes a lot of sense on a tiny device like the iPhone and editing in general is very well implemented. Editing operations like insert, cut and paste are animated, so you see exactly what went where. I originally got this app for when I'm away from home but lately I find myself using it more and more even when I could run BIAB. So - yeah - get yourself a copy. For what it's worth this app has my highest recommendations. It's worth every penny.
  • Great start! But......

    By musiclver22 (Pcmac user)

Pretty easy to input changes using cut and paste, especially on AABA forms. Tempo is a little shakey on the first couple beats, probably because it's loading. Then the time is fine. Sound quality is good. Instrument mixing is smooth and responsive with the piano, bass, and drum volumes. Style choices are nice. The screen layout is 1 bar per line, the scrolling is fine with looking at the changes while playing with it. The walkin bass lines consist of arpeggios going up the chord. R, 3, 5, 7. Piano plays only on the beats you put it on. So if you put the chord on beat 1, that's all you get. Hopefully they can put some sort of comping patterns in with a couple of other bass paterns for variety. LOVE the program regardless. Works great and easy to use. I like using the drums only for teaching lessons.
  • extremely unmusical

    By dookle (Pcmac user)

the iPhone is capable of rendering professional sounds. This app is completely uninspirational. The awful piano stabs are literally a joke. I have Band in a Box, and this is nowhere near it. For the creator of this app to allow this for public purchase mean A, they are not musicians or B, they are con artists. I appeal to whomever put this thing out here to redeem themselves and render this app musically useful. I had high expectations for this app but I am left with nothing but utter contempt!!! I recently installed irealbook and am extremely satisfied... it's what this app should have been! The above critique still stands...There's no excuse for this app!!!
  • Rename this one

    By BrianElvis (Pcmac user)

They should rename it App Crash. Bye, bye $10.
