Software Features and Description

1. It provides an efficient yet fun way to practice all aspects of Japanese (kana, kanji, vocab, reading, writing...) through drills, quizzes and flash cards, while providing engaging feedback through progress charts, scores and game-like "achievements" for each Japanese level.

2. KanjiDraw and KanaDraw add-ons harvest the full power of your device's touchscreen to guide you through proper Japanese handwriting, while detailed animated cards tell you everything you need to know on each kanji.

3. KanjiBox is particularly well suited for standardized test preparation (JLPT, Kanji Kentei, Ninja Academy etc.) but works great as a personal study tool too.

4. • Drill mode helps you train on kanji, vocabulary, word reading and kana.

5. • Additional modules help you train your handwriting on kana and kanji using the touchscreen.

6. • Custom Study Sets let you pick your own set of vocabulary words or kanji to focus on.

7. • Adaptative learning: focuses on your weak points and uses spaced repetition (SRS) techniques to help you learn faster.

8. • Study mode gives you customisable sets of flashcards.

9. • Live stats: let you measure your current level and gauge your progress.

10. KanjiBox is an offline Japanese studying application.

11. • Six training levels: JLPT N5 to JLPT N1, plus an extra "Sensei" level.

  • Great app for kanji practice

    By Indarien (Pcmac user)

This is a great app for people who have some experience with Japanese and also have the Imiwa app installed. There is great integration between the two, and with the recent updates this app has really become a polished learning environment. (Also updates are much more frequent than other Japanese apps.)
  • Great app for learning and practicing kanji

    By Sturm bunny (Pcmac user)

It took me a bit of time to find a good app for kanji. I was hesitant about the price initially, but all the time I have put into studying with it certainly justifies the 5 dollars. I will certainly keep using this app as I continue my Japanese studies.
  • I have yet to find the one perfect app for Japanese

    By dca8 (Pcmac user)

I mainly use the kana draw and kanji draw modules of this app to practice writing, which I think this app does very well. The other stuff I’m not as enthusiastic about and so I’m using other apps for other skills, but I do think this is helping me learn. In short, it’s good, but I think it could be improved in some areas.
  • Needs a few things

    By Dollwitch (Pcmac user)

I wish the in-app dictionary was more expansive. It'd be nice if we could make our own entries in sets in order to drill expressions, etc. Also, when drilling, I REALLY wish it would cycle through each word one time before showing repeats. I don't want to drill the same word 6-7 times while never seeing others a single time unless I drill for 20 minutes.
