This app is not for real people living in the real world
By beckycarr100 (Pcmac user)
Most fish in grocery stores doesn't have the level of information on the label that the app specifies, nor do most restaurant menus. The list I downloaded from your website a few years ago was much more useful. I was looking for an update, but this app is overwhelming in its specificity of information that I can't verify when I'm buying fish. Why not tell me which brands and restaurant chains are better or worse. I just wanted to know if wild Alaska salmon is still ok and what kind of canned tuna is ok or to be avoided, but I'm no better off than before I looked at the app. This app is apparently designed for wealthy foodies, not for ordinary consumers trying to make better choices. By the way, Apple, you dumped my whole review when my nickname was already taken. Why don't you tell me to pick a different nickname BEFORE I type a whole paragraph with one finger?!

Better than the ratings suggest
By 1000101_Dude (Pcmac user)
This app is way better than the negative ratings say. The UI is pretty good and the search function works well. Of course, there is a lot of info in the descriptions that is not available at the point of purchase (hence only 4 stars) but what’s there is fine for giving you enough data to make an informed decision.
I downloaded this app a while ago and found it kind of useless and eventually deleted it. But I’m glad I tried it out again. Seems like the developers listened to all the feedback about their formerly crap app and made some good changes. It’s telling that all the really bad reviews are from a year ago (as of this writing...)

Trove of Information
By potratzable (Pcmac user)
I’m impressed with the amount of information in this app. For each species of fish the app lists a multitude of common origins and whether regions practice sustainable fishing methods. I’ve never seen this concentration of the app information anywhere. People are docking stars because of not being able to determine fish origins when making the app purchases. That isn’t an app problem - it’s a cultural issue. Culturally most people, including myself, vaguely know there are overfishing and sustainability issues, but have no idea of the extent. Tools like this app can help bring about needed changes in the the app industry.

Outdated
By Gingau (Pcmac user)
Was a great app!, Although many times hard to tell where the fish I was buying came from, it still helped thin out sustainably caught fish. Now it does not work with modern phones so this app really needs an upgrade.
