If you want to install and use the The Weather Channel: Live Maps app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use The Weather Channel: Live Maps for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: The Weather Channel: Live Maps for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type The Weather Channel: Live Maps in the search bar and press Search. Click on The Weather Channel: Live Maps application icon. A window of The Weather Channel: Live Maps on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the The Weather Channel: Live Maps icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: The Weather Channel: Live Maps for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use The Weather Channel: Live Maps for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

I love the new user-friendly update because I did not know how to find what I needed before. It used to be difficult to navigate to daily or hourly weather predictions, but now they’re conveniently located on the bottom bar. And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how quickly I can get to the radar. Let’s be honest, most of the time I don’t use the weather app unless I want to see what storms are a-brewin’ in my area. The fact that I can open the app and just click “radar” instead of scrolling through a bunch of information I don’t care about makes my life 1000x easier. The last thing I want to comment on is the grouping of all videos/news articles/etc. in to one tab. I know a bunch of people complained about all the “unnecessary” clips they had to scroll through to find what they wanted, but now it’s out of your way (I don’t agree that they’re unnecessary but I can see how they could be an annoyance). I like to check out the Weather Channel news during hurricane/tornado/snowpocalypse season, so I’m glad they didn’t do away with all the extra information entirely. Overall the update is a HUGE improvement that inclined me to finally leave a review after having the app for over two years. I 11/10 recommend.
  • Very Disappointed 😔

Only 10% of the people say ‘ Oh my god get this app it is great.” While the other 90% says that it is trash. I am one of those 90%. I can not believe that The Weather Channel can’t even forecast a 20 minute snow. Very dissapointed. Accuracy is never accurate and radar would take a long time to load. I think all of this is a big fat lie that it says that this is the most acurate app. Honestly the videos it gives are more social then more weather related. If you live near Washington D.C then you should get a accurate report of your weather. For example it gave 90% chance of heavy thunderstorms with heavy downpours and the next thing you know after 5 minutes slightly chance of rain shower. WOW. How can the storm move away that is about 1 mile away to reaching us and suddenly just miss us. I do not understand how people give 5 stars to this app and even 3 stars. Seorisly you should hire people that acctually work and keep check of the radar every 2 minutes ( because they said that the weather channel app radar refreshes every 2 minutes. I don’t think that this app will ever become great in the near future. Until you get better people in Atlanta, Georgia headquaters and you write a developers feedback to this review I am not having this app downloaded in my phone that takes a lot of battery and storage. Hopefully my review will actually make you responsible for this app and to take more care of it. Very disappointed.
  • Awful since update..

It is way too white and thin lines to separate each thing. There is no beginning or end. Just runs together. I am a die hard since beginning of time I have had this app. Deleting it today which breaks my heart bc I have depended on it since iPhone came out. I am 37y/o director of Business Development for a Hospital. Therefore I work on our website, billboards, social media, marketing. The update is a fail like snapchats. Bright white hurts my eyes even with my phone dimmed completely. I go to eye Dr yearly and I don’t wear glasses or contacts aka no eye issues. Everyone I know says the same. It’s so disappointing. Everyday runs together with nothing visible that separates each day. It isn’t appealing to the eyes at all. I miss the old app with lots of blues (gentle on the eyes) and the layout. I never leave reviews but this bothers me so much to have to look for another app because loyalty is so big for me. I use the same Drs, hair person, stay at jobs for a long time. I am okay with change with my Job I change on a dime and am used to it but only for good reason. This update was the worst even before Snapchats awful update which they have since fixed. I am deleting my app today and in search of another good one. Some updates are appealing and done right this was not. I have emailed them my thoughts when it first came out. I have given myself time to adjust. I haven’t adjusted to it at all.. Hope this helps. Thank you.

I have never been so disappointed in people not listening in my life. There was something good about the ole weather channel info and the way it was presented for older adults like me. Every time I get used to something all you brainos out there change things and never think about having something simple for older adults. There was something simple, I knew what was going on and it was accurate. Yet you go out and change it to garbage. I changed from whatever we used to have to the the weather channel because of the accuracy and simplicity and now I have garbage. I think I will say goodbye to you and look for something else. I remember when my grandparents used to fuss about all the changes that people made and never considered the older adults. Now I am in their shoes and understand what they meant. Maybe think about Henry David Thoreau’s words “SIMPLIFY SIMPLIFY SIMPLIFY “. Those words are as true today as when he wrote them. Maybe some of you should think about them before you destroy something that was working. I also do not like all the personal info that everyone is looking for. Most of it you do not need and is really none of your business.

  • New Look Needs Work, Missing Info

Since they’ve changed their look, they took away the UV index. Please bring this back, this is important information for me. Also, there is just too much going on. They have too many moving components where I am trying to look at the weather. It is too distracting. I can’t take it anymore; I am actually uninstalling and downloading a different app because of it. Simplicity is key guys.
  • Hate ads. No option to remove.

The ads take up about 1/4 of the view with no option to remove them. I hate ads. The app itself is hard to make heads or tales of. Seems like everything just runs and blends in together. The new “clean” look that seems to be permeating everything is too sterile. Apps and such need some definition to help the eyes make sense of the situation. Otherwise it looks like a mess, which is ironic considering it’s the “clean” look.

Not as informative or eye appealing!!
  • Go back to the old version!!!

I really dislike this new version of the app. I loved being able to open the app and see 5 days out. You could then touch each day to get more info. Also, I agree with the other reviews I don’t care to see videos of weather. I go to this app for a quick check of today’s weather and also what the next few days look like. This new version is clumsy to navigate. I don’t like the graph version of the day either. Please go back to the old format!!!
  • Long time user, not really a fan

I have used this app since the beginning of apps. It has been very buggy over time, with a comparatively high crash rate. Stability issues seem somewhat resolved in the last couple of major updates. However, there is a new “feature” or bug, depending on whether u r the advertiser or user, that disabled the ability to close a video ad while in full screen mode. This has been very bothersome to me. I am also with other reviewers who state that this update is aesthetically unpleasant. The UI also seems even more unintuitive than before. I don’t think The Weather Channel is going in the right direction with their iPhone app. I will most likely choose to use other weather apps in the future.
  • So bad since update

I used to love the weather channel app, but now I honestly can’t stand it. Is there away to go back??? Every time I enable an alert as soon as I back out of that page it shuts it all off again. I finally figured out how to put my town as a favorite. Why did you fix something that wasn’t broke?!! Very disappointing

Blue page of death... deleting now. There has got to be a better weather app.
  • Went from excellent to unusable

The new design was clearly done by someone who apparently never used the app. I have removed and will now use something much more user friendly. Too bad. You took something excellent and screwed it up completely!! I would rate it zero stars if I could!

More accurate than the app the phone comes with. So many things don’t work. This time, the app doesn’t work at all now. Just a blue screen. Time to try something new after 3 phones and 5 years of use.
  • Horrible since update

I don’t know what they did, but this app has been horrible since the update. It closes down, it doesn’t update to my current location! I very seldom use it anymore and am thinking of deleting it!
