Correct times, wrong trains!!
By Wackadoodle (Pcmac user)
The arrival times for this app work just well enough to get one feeling comfortable with it. Then it gives the correct time for a train arriving to a station but identifies the WRONG TRAIN. So it says there’s an E arriving to 23St in 10 mins. Oops, sorry, it’s an A! But don’t worry, an E is only 10min away. NOPE, it’s an A! The MTA app got it right which is how I knew not to wait for the second “E” which was not on its way. So I exited and walked over to 6th ave where I caught the M and was late for work. Stick with the MTA app for correct train arrival times. This app is fairly good as a general map.
Another gripe - the different versions of the map - one for the day schedule and one for the night schedule - is a great idea but it might be early enough that the app still shows the night schedule but in fact the day trains have already started to run. For instance with the above fiasco the night schedule was up and did not show the M train as an option for getting to the Court Sq stop in Queens. But the M trains WERE running which is how I ended up getting to work.

What they said...
By XenophonJones (Pcmac user)
I’m also an iTrans refugee, who came to the app when iTrans broke. This could be the PERFECT app with just two fixes: 1. more detail in the alert pop-ups, and, 2. moving the alert listing to its own page, because the current format is too small - the icons for each line are too small and prone to tapping errors, and the window is too small and font too big to allow easy reading of the service advisory information. iTrans did these things right and was five stars - when it worked. the app can be 5 stars if it makes these reasonable adjustments.

Among the nicest NYC subway apps
By navySILVER.88 (Pcmac user)
I’m a convert from iTransNYC which was the standard for iPhone until it stopped updating regularly as of late. This app matches that app in almost every aspect (and props for making own maps!) but I’d like to see more detailed delay and cancellation info within the push notifications. This shouldn’t be too hard, just rally the same info MTA sends out to its riders - iTransNYC does exactly that. Also I think a full page dedicated to alerts rather than a small menu right now will make navigating information even easier.

Best subway app
By LM_NYC (Pcmac user)
I use the app before heading out to the subway to see if my line has delays. Info is up to date and I can use it to make quick decision to opt to a different train line that doesn't have delays at the moment. Also has a clean interface and I like that it shows the neighborhood names on the map. I live here so don't need that, but I'm sure it's helpful to someone from out of town.
