  • BEST ANIME RPG SO FAR

    By laylow18 (Pcmac user)

I’ve played almost every anime rpg on the App Store and so far this is the game I’ve been looking for. Controls are simple and easy 10/10. The gameplay runs smoothly and your not interrupted after every single chapter with long boring cutscenes so when there is a cutscene it’s actually appreciated because it’s a bit of a break from the action. Graphics 10/10. I wish every anime game had the same gameplay style honestly. The main menu is simple and easy to navigate. There is even an option to “take a break” which lets you stop in the middle of a chapter and you can pick up anytime from your last checkpoint without losing your progress. This seems more like a platform game if anything I’m loving it so far. I always say less is best and most anime games out there focus too much on everything else but the actual gameplay and seems more like a chore to play. This game is fun and you guys have perfected where the other games have failed. The only complaint that I have is that sometimes the enemies can go off screen and the view could be a bit narrow, although there is an arrow underneath that always points to them you could still be caught off guard and hit with an attack if your facing multiple enemies. If you can manage to fix this and add controller compatibility then this game would be perfect.
  • Fun and Different

    By Excall (Pcmac user)

This game has very high production values - great art design and music. The stories are cheesy and fun in the best way. When I first started playing I thought the controls and combat were clunky, but after a while I’m totally addicted. In the next update they are going to have a more zoomed out camera option and I think that will help a lot, but after playing a while you get used to the system and honestly I enjoy it the way it is. There is NO ENERGY system which makes this one of the most free to play games ever. You get stronger mostly by leveling your character and pulling equipment from the gacha. If you complete the missions (by just playing) you get tons of currency for tons of pulls. The first Episode has a good story but the combat style of Leo is not as fun as some of the other characters. I recommend playing through a couple episodes before you write this game off. It’s a shame the first impressions aren’t better because I honestly think this game is a masterpiece. I think one of the reasons the first impressions are bad is because the secret missions require you to level up and power up a bit. If you try them right away they feel frustrating and impossible. There are plenty of other things to do so I recommend just ignoring them till your character is a little stronger.
  • Stunningly unique but…

    By Zenido (Pcmac user)

I would like to rate it a 4.5 for the obvious reason. Configuration… it’s an awkward and unorthodox way to use the attack and moving function. I kinda hoped there was a way to switch it in the settings, so the attack button is separate from moving. I’m not upset that it’s vertical, yeah I believe landscape would make it more comfortable and enjoyable since the overall quality of the game is immersive. That being said I love how unique it is. I like the fact that it’s vertically fixed. The button lay out is different and most definitely needs getting used to. I feel like it’s a one hand type of game which is relaxing and great for playing while not inhibiting you from going about your day. But I would have still have appreciated an option to separate the attack from the moving key. All that being said it is truly a uniquely refreshing way to play this beautiful game. The graphics are amazing, the audio quality and voice acting are top notch. I appreciate all the hard work and dedication that they put into this game. I hope if anyone actually took the time to read this that they would give the game a shot. I truly enjoy playing it on my free time especially since it’s not like other typical rpg games.
  • Good game killed by vertical orientation

    By night, mayor (Pcmac user)

The game itself is fun. The production value is very high, voice actors are good, music fantastic… but what in the WORLD is this orientation and locked camera…. The gameplay is semi-explorative hubs… but the camera is pulled in tight with no rotational control, and your peripheral vision is completely cut off by the locked vertical orientation… enemies attack you from out of view, paths are hard to see until right under your feet… it’s SO awkward and amateur seeming. On top of that movement and attack are handled in the same screen zone…. Dead center of the bottom, instead of right or left aligned… but then the very short-timing Parry alert is like randomly and awkwardly distanced from that center button. I still don’t know how the devs want me to hold my device to control the game and hit those. Seems like they want you to play with two hands, so then just make it horizontal…. I want to love the game but the devs made some very unconventional design decisions that go against every rule of good UX design and make a frustrating experience. Nothing fun about getting blindsided by an enemy three feet to your left that you can’t see because they’re all offscreen…. An explorative rpg like this needs left and right view WAY more than I need to see more floor and sky
