What is OnStar Guardian? The OnStar Guardian app provides family safety services such as roadside assistance, help in a crash, family locator, and emergency services. The app is available to eligible OnStar members as part of their plan, and non-GM vehicle owners can try it for up to 3 months for free and then pay $15 a month. The app can be shared with up to 7 friends or family members at no additional cost. The app can be used in any vehicle, on a motorcycle, or even through a home's smart speaker.
1. Eligible customers who associate an approved payment method with their account and authorize recurring payments for their service plan within 30 days of activating their 1-month OnStar Guardian trial will receive 2 additional months of that plan at no additional charge.
2. OnStar Guardian skill and associated OnStar services requires successful account linking with Amazon Alexa, completion of a safety profile including an accurate and up-to-date physical address of the Alexa- enabled device.
3. Get family safety services — Roadside Assistance, help in a crash, family locator and Emergency Services — with the OnStar Guardian® app.
4. At the end of your trial and the first 2 months of your plan, OnStar will automatically bill the payment method on file monthly at then-current standard monthly rates.
5. Customers with a preexisting OnStar or Connected Services plan are excluded from this offer.
6. Eligible OnStar Members receive the OnStar Guardian app as part of their plan.
7. Plans may be cancelled at any time by pushing the blue OnStar button or calling 1.888.466.7827. May not be combined with other offers or retroactively applied.
8. OnStar links to emergency services.
9. Physical Address must be confirmed and updated in the OnStar Guardian app.
10. One-time redemption of offer per service plan or vehicle, as applicable.
11. Location Status services designed to locate compatible smartphones with Location Services permission enabled.

- Mobile Crash Response: The app can detect a car accident and alert an OnStar Advisor for help. It can be used in any vehicle or on a motorcycle.
- Roadside Assistance: The app provides help on the road, including jump-starting a dead battery, assistance with a flat tire, and fuel delivery. It can be used for any vehicle or motorcycle.
- Location Status: The app allows users to share and save real-time locations, view a live map, and send departure and arrival notifications.
- Emergency Services: The app provides priority access to an OnStar Emergency Advisor 24/7 and can send First Responders to the user's exact location.
- OnStar Guardian skill for Amazon Alexa: The app can be linked with an Amazon Alexa-enabled device to get emergency services from an OnStar Advisor in the user's home.
- Limitations: The app is only available in the US and Canada and on select Apple devices. A cell reception, GPS signal, and device data connection are required. The app may not transmit all crash data. Location Status services are designed to locate compatible smartphones with Location Services permission enabled. Roadside assistance is provided by Allstate Roadside Services for vehicles only, and towing services have additional fees. Up to seven additional individuals can be added to the "My Family" section within the app. Select service plan is required for the OnStar Guardian skill and associated OnStar services.
