1. Spectrum is a collection of 3 Audio Unit synthesizers and one Audio Unit effect.

2. Note that Granular is an Audio Unit effect, not an instrument, so it goes in an effect slot.

3. Spectrum is based on popular eurorack synthesizer modules made by Mutable Instruments.

4. To use Spectrum, load the Audio Units in your DAW or AU host of choice, like Audiobus, GarageBand or AUM.

5. Spectrum - Multi-mode 8-voice polyphonic oscillator featuring 14 high quality oscillator algorithms.

6. Spectrum contains DSP code provided under the MIT open source license by Mutable Instruments.

7. Granular - Granular sampler, looper, pitch shifter, reverb effect.

8. Bowed, Blowed, and Struck sounds through a 64-band resonator.

9. Resonator - 7 beautiful string generation algorithms.

10. - 2-source modulation matrix allowing for complex and evolving patches.

Powerful Plugins!

I’m so happy with this app, Mutable Instrument’s Eurorack modules are amazing and it’s super fun to have software ports I can carry around in my pocket! I’m glad this is free, it’s really impressive considering the prices of similar apps - for example, Ripplemaker is about $10, yet I use these just as often! I would love to see more Mutable ports, maybe Ripples or Stages, but I can’t complain, these are wonderfully fun! Essential for anyone messing with iOS music!

Let me get this straight, in the App Store at this very moment, apps similar to this app, sit next to the app and has a price of well over $9.99 and doesn’t do HALF of what this does? Honestly I’m a bit p*ssed off at these other developers trying to charge so much, now that I see this app for free! Well done developer, I hope we ALL donate to your developers and to your app.

These sound generators (simulated physical phenomena) are so different to conventional synths, and the sounds are amazing. You can get the Mutable documents for fuller explanation of what's going on. I've made short lists of what the knobs do for the various modes; the referenced links are not too helpful since the knob names are not shown. If you hate getting so much for free, you can buy the author's Synth Modes app.
Very Cool for Live Performance

I used this bundle this weekend in my live iPad keyboard rig along with AUM and it gave me some very interesting cool sounds that worked perfectly. Great for bending a stretching sounds at the touch of your hand. I hope there will be more of these tools in the future and with iPad OS right around the corner the iPad music community is about to explode with new users and developers. 5 stars!
