Does the job but could be a lot better
By cornyjohns (Pcmac user)
It’s about time the app finally gave us bud trackers. Almost 2020 but guess we just got the technology to pull this one off.
(The timing has no effect on this score)
The app itself is decent enough, it gets the job done of telling you where the bus is at the moment. Beyond that, it has a lot of problems. Firstly there are way too many menu options for what the app does. Who needs a search or favorites option when there’s only ever two routes, usually just one, and the route isn’t nearly as complicated as the campus ones. This just serves to clutter the screen.
On that note, the black bar at the top of the screen saying “live shuttle tracker” is pointless, since there’s nothing else this could be. Just having the the app logo in the lower left or right corner would be a lot better. Similarly, too much space is taken up when swiping up to view the route selection.
Furthermore it’s just plain laggy. I’m not a software dev so I can’t critique this as thoroughly, but it should run a lot faster than this.
