What is MyPacer?
My Pacer is a mobile application that is part of an NIH-sponsored research study conducted by the University of Pittsburgh. The study aims to understand myositis from the perspectives and daily experiences of patients. The app uses a mix of questionnaires, surveys, simple tests, and Fitbit activity to track myositis symptoms and experiences. The study doctor evaluates patients using secure telemedicine. The study is available to adult patients living in the US with a diagnosis of polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and necrotizing myopathy. The study is observational, and no clinic visits or experimental drugs are required.
