Install Lightweight PDF app on your Windows in 4 steps below:
- Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .
- Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.
- Using Lightweight PDF on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:
- Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Lightweight PDF"
- The search will reveal the Lightweight PDF app icon. Open, then click "Install".

Not as useful as I had hoped

I tried it on a dozen random PDFs I had on my desktop. Only one was reduced (a large file from NIST) - I guess the rest were already as compressed as they can be.
Also, the following may be a feature or a liability depending on your point of view: the app overwrites the orignial file automatically. So if you want to try it out and perhap not keep the results, you need to remember to duplicate the original first.
Besides the above, it's a simple app that is very easy to use.

Great But Overwrites Original

I spent so much time trying to find a program that did this as quickly and efficiently as this without paying for a monthly services. Super impressed. It not only compressed file to an e-mailable size but my images still looking amazing... which was the biggest challenge of all.
My only complaint is that the app overwrites the orginal file automatically. I wish there were a way to rename and save compressed version.

Works well but then stopped

The app works great - 50MB pdfs down to 10MB.
Update : The app was working but then stopped. Contacted support and they were very responsive (same day). They have released a new version and hopefully that will solve my issue. We also had a 1.1GB pdf with 258 jpg files in it - the app reduced it to 64MB.

Amazing!

Worked immediately, and didn't over-compress artwork images in large PDF files. The only solution I found to actually reduce file size and not ruin large photos. Bravo!
