Install RoadRUNNER Rides app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "RoadRUNNER Rides"
The search will reveal the RoadRUNNER Rides app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once RoadRUNNER Rides is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including RoadRUNNER Rides.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »

Nice! Subscriber discount?

The navigation and route planning are first rate, as are the maps I’ve viewed thus far. While free mapping options are out there, the routing is worthy of an annual fee IMO. The user-submitted tours is already disorganized, thanks to users submitting dumb names “Alt Fri Night”??? You cans control that of course. A search function could help. I realize it would take work to dump all the zero-distance rides and non descriptive title rides. Users will probably ruin this nice option you provided. As a long time magazine subscriber, maybe a little discount, even $5, would be a super gesture and maybe even encourage subscriptions. Who know, your bean counters could probably project that. Price point will settle out. Your option of annual or monthly is super. Great job, and an excellent V1.0 rollout.
Tablet?

I see why you would want to use a phone for the actual ride navigation. But why in the world won’t it work on an iPad or laptop for taking a look at routes or for setting up one of your own. It even has a screen expand icon, it just doesn’t work. The fee doesn’t bother me, but not being able to see it on that 2x4 screen is an issue. Also, is there a phone support for those of us that might not be able to figure it out? It looks like it will be a nice way to replace base camp, but just not quite there yet

I purchased the full options app and watched the tutorial videos on line. Even after watching the videos and “practicing” routes, I tried the app while on a 5 state bike ride. Issues that lead to me cancelling the app after multiple failed attempts to use it: 1) The routes I tailored with via points would not save 2) When trying to start navigation on the selected route, the app would crash and I had to start over 90% of the attempts 3) despite downloading the applicable state maps in advance, the app would show my route but simply would not navigate. The app is great in theory, but simply wouldn’t work during my 10 days of giving it a try multiple times in different states.

It’s a nice initial effort from the folks at the app but... $59 / year in my opinion is too steep a price especially if you already are a subscriber to the magazine. Only a phone version is available. No version for tablets. Who the heck wants to look at mini-maps on their mobile phone. Some features such as ride tracking are already available from other apps and GPS. Much of the information w/r to ride routes are available elsewhere such as Butler maps or through the the app website itself. I gave it a look... but does not work for me.
