1. Images stored in Photos libraries cannot be seen by Spect unless exported from Photos first.

Install Spect app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:
Get either Bluestacks or the Nox App >> . We recommend Bluestacks because you can easily find solutions online if you run into problems while using it. Download Bluestacks PC software Here >> .

Install the emulator:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Spect on PC [Windows 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Spect"
The search will reveal the Spect app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Spect is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Spect.
Now enjoy Spect on PC.

Perfect for my workflow

Since my bandwidth is not very fast, I don't add all my photos to Apple Photos when I import them to my Mac. I dump them into a folder, then look at them. Before this app, I was using the arrow keys to move around and Quick Look to view images, but now, with this app, I can easily go through even a large number of photos very quickly. This has made my photo workflow a lot simpler, and I can't imagine not using this. Also, the developer was very receptiive to my comments about some features the app was lacking, and I'm very please to see the changes made in version 1.1. Great work!
A way to triage your photos, not as useful for organizing

This is a simple and shockingly fast viewer for your folders full of photos. It can also show them as a slide show and move photos to the Trash. And that’s all it does: in the style of indie Mac apps, it’s extremely minimalist. I can see this being useful for pro photographers who need to triage a bunch of photos. But as a non-pro user, I want to use this app to organize a folder full of old photos. To do that I would want to see dates, image size, file type, and file size without having to reveal each image in the Finder.

Fast and simple navigation through MacOS file system. Ability to resize thumbnails and change background, highlight, and label colors. Ability to drag and drap thumbnails and images to other apps and folders visible in sidebar. Can hide sidebar and toolbar. Reads PSD and PDF files. Desired features for future versions: Ability to move between images with trackpad and magic mouse gestures. Ability to drag and drop to folder hierarchy. Open with… function. Dark mode. Great app!
Smart App for Viewing Photos

Love the simplicity and intuitiveness of this application. It does exactly what it says it does. Two quick suggestions. 1) Maybe a new, more professional looking icon, and 2) a setting to default to a specific top level folder rather than sticking to the last viewed level.
