What is Train Layouts?
The app is a platform for model train enthusiasts to browse and download model train layouts created by a community of hobbyists. Users can view the layouts by model scale, popularity, author, upload date, or other criteria. The app also allows users to create shopping lists for layouts, like layouts they find particularly nice, and get in touch with fellow model railroaders.
1. The constantly growing collection of model railway layouts is a great source of inspiration for building your own railway empire - or you can simply enjoy what others have built and browse the layouts by model scale, popularity, author, upload date or other criteria.
2. We make it easy to get in touch with fellow model railroaders to ask questions, comment on layouts or just talk about this great hobby by enabling you to provide contact details - while at the same time protecting your privacy and letting you decide who can see your personal information.
3. 'Like' layouts you find particularly nice and help other hobbyists to discover great layouts as they show up in the category of popular layouts (per community vote).
4. Local layouts can be opened e.g. from iCloud Drive and displayed on the iPad, filtered by layer, rendered with various track element styles just as any layout downloaded from the cloud.
5. Browse and download model train layouts created by a community of model railroad hobbyists.
